Yes... yes I am. I am seeing him in about 23 hours, playing unaccompanied by his bandmates.

Are you excited for me? Will anyone else be there (Great American Music Hall)? I will be the teenager with a teenage friend.

Would anyone like pictures or soundclips?

That is all. Have a pleasant evenin'.

I'd be curious to know what kind of songs he plays. Is he planning a solo album?

I dowloaded a live set of solo Colin Meloy off You Ain't No Picasso and he did Decemberists tunes and some Morissey covers and some other stuff.

His between song banter was hilarious.

I love it when he tells the story of Madaline the Bicycle :D

Well, I have the full bootleg recording of Colin Meloy live at Schuba's, in Chicago.

There are so many funny stories between songs.
Including the backstory of the bicycle in "The Apology Song"

That's the one I have too! Honestly, if one of my friends fucked up the job of simply watching my damn bike, I would probably forgive them if they wrote me a song about it.

I'm a huge Decemberists fan.  Colin Meloy's an ace storyteller.
