To my knowledge emulators aren't illegal... having roms without actually owning the cartridge is.

Correct.  Besides take it to the next level and pay for game tap.

Holy crap, talk about all the classic arcade games, most of the old sega system stuff, and other good windows pc games too.

Well worth the 9.95!

It got mentioned somewhere, although I seem to remember it was more of a passing comment than a discussion.

You are actually allowed to have roms on your computer for 24 hours without  owning the cartridge before it becomes illegal.

Randomness: Omg I found the forum button again.

Nah, that's just BS some guy with a ROM website made up to make it look vaguely legit. Even if you own the game, you're only allowed to make your own backup, not download somebody else's.

Emulators are 100% legal. The only lawsuits relating to emulation have all been by Sony, and have all been lost. Lawsuits like this are only won when there is a direct copyright breach or something similar.

So I'll talk about emulation all I want.

My friend put some emulators on my PC a few months ago. Fucked up my internet connection but I got a new one a couple of days ago. They were a little bit fun for about 4 days.
