That's XP in RAM-devouring mode. >_>

Skinned taskbar moved to top + personally skinned Winamp, Rocketdock at the bottom, skinned Miranda IM to the right.

If I see one more tiny, compressed jpeg of either a) some retarded onlien game or b) your desktop that is littered with 5000 icons or I am going to just freak out and kill someone.

Maybe this thread isnt' for me.

I downloaded Windows 7 last night and I just finished getting everything configured to my liking, here's the result:

Yes, I have a massive hard on for the Quick Launch bar. I put pretty much anything I use on there.

In which I point out some things I really like about 7 (tinypic doesn't do thumbnails?)

A: The handy taskbar, note the media player shortcuts in the preview window. Neat!
B: The amazingly easy to set up XP virtual machine. Maple doesn't save or load in 7, but in XP it's fine. Thanks to this I can get work done. You can launch programs that run in the vm (the xp mode anyway) from this 'Virtual Windows XP Applications' folder in the start menu. No silly desktop needed!
C: Pretty glass effects!

I'm liking it alright, so far, but it's taken some getting used to. The quick launch bar is not actually active by default and it took some googling to find out how to add it.

McTaggart: the general consensus amongst my techish friends is that 7 is what Vista should have been, to the point where the Win98->Win98se comparisons are being made.

Loving the extended desktop Helmet

this is mine:

edit: the black box on the bottom right is due to the difference in resolutions between my two monitors. The laptop screen is on the right, with the taskbar, while the screen on the left is one that i stole from my parents when they got their new computer (free monitor..why not?)

I do not understand how people live like that. I mean my room is messy but I can still see the carpet a little sometimes.

I don't like having complicated images for my desktop, it's visually distracting (not that I can see the desktop most of the time but still.) I made a desktop image that is just a muted green with a slogan in faint text: Ideas are easy, Implementation is hard

I also have a million icons on my desktop, I keep intending to clean it up but never do.
