I am trying to make something that has nice crossfades.  My bro has CD Architect in his comp., which is a pretty expensive very customizable program, but it's just way too complicated for me I think.  What do you use to make nice mix CDs?

I'm a Nero fan as well, but I, too, make tapes.  Yay, tapes!

Window's Media Player does it all for me, although i rarely make cd's anymore, everything just goes straight into the laptop, then straight onto the mp3 player, which then keeps me entertained at school.

A combination of wxmusik (to sort out the track order and just browse my collection), Audacity (to lop bits off the end, fade out, add blank space to get the timing nice etc) and Nero (for the actualy burning, but I hate this program).

If I'm feeling energetic I'll play the tracks from my computer into the mic socket of my stereo and record it to a tape.

I use iTunes a lots, mainly because I'm on a Mac, so I have little option really.

to be really adventurous, I use Garageband, as without a doubt, is the because music producing tools ever on the budget.

I used Traktor for the last one I did and it came out pretty good.  It's DJ software so you can do really nice fades/mixes between tracks.  To get it onto CD though you have to record while you play through the whole mix, which sucks if you make a mistake.

Before that I used iTunes

iTunes is perhaps the easiest way to burn a CD ever. I use that because it is also where I keep all of my music sorted.

Usually I just place a stack of cd's laying on a blank CD-R, and put them under my pillow.  Then, the Mix Fairy comes during the middle of the night and give me a great compilation (WITH fading between tracks) and a shiny new quarter!

And sometimes I'm just lazy and use Nero.  I have iTunes, but I haven't tried burning any cd's since I got my iPod....

iTunes is the programme for me. What can I say? I am a simple man of relatively simple burning needs.

Though back in about 1999, 2000, before iTunes really came on to the scene, it was all about Adaptec Easy CD Creator.

That was in the days when it was pretty uncommon and "prestigious" to have a CD burner, and CD-Rs were comparatively dear.

Man, what lame years.

My laptop came with Musicman Jukebox, which is OK at making mixes.  Either that or the Windows media player.

I still use tapes alot though.  OLD SKOOL...
