I listen to a few pretty cheesy metal bands like Queensrÿche and Dragonforce, I actually have quite a few other "guilty pleasures" but they're mainly individual songs rather than bands. For example I really like LoveStoned by Justin Timberlake.

prince does shred on most instruments...obviously different terms of virtuosity/awesomeness apply to different instruments but yeah he shreds. i liked sign o' the times, but i will never buy the soundtrack for purple rain! my mum once suggested that prince should stop beating around the bush and make an album completely about sex...i didn't have the heart to tell her about 'come'.
