We have nothing against necroposts these days, though it's pretty silly when someone answers a question posed years ago by someone who is no longer reading the forum - but it is (or was ;) ) really only spammers that do that!

1. Always Look on the Bright Side of Life - Monty Python
2. Oh Sherry - Journey
3. Big Love, Big Heartache - Elvis Presley
4. One More Time - Daft Punk
5. Rectifier - Daft Punk
6. Bring it On Home To Me - Sam Cookie
7. Stuck On You - Elvis Presley

For the longest time I shared a music library with my Dad, but strangely enough I ended up keeping most of his music when I got my own computer. The weird part was I knew all of these songs as soon as they came on... I have a lot of Daft Punk and Elvis, if you were wondering.

:Wumpscut: - Rush
Fair to Midland - Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom
Tiger Army - Lunatone
Squeeze - Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)
MC Paul Barman - Cock Mobster
Pinback - Subbing for Eden

I like the range in this list. I also know all the lyrics to all these songs basically by heart.

that whole Paullelujah! album is pretty great. i'm not always in the mood for comedic rap and i'm sure he's plenty clever enough to do other kinds if he wanted to, but doesn't want to alienate any fans that love what he already does. in either case respect has to be given to somebody who'd think to rhyme "one size fits all" with "buns thighs tits y'all".

10. Stubborn Allstars - Tin Spam
9. Chicken Pox - Believer
8. Da Mystery Of Chessboxin' - Wu-Tang Clan
7. Fanatics - Minutemen
6. Dirty Jersey - Predator Dub Assassins
5. All Nighter - Elastica
4. Highland Street - The Break Evens
3. Where'd You Go - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
2. Substitute - The Who
1. Out Of Step (with the World) - Minor Threat

I really like shuffle discussions.

1. Evanescence ~ Everybody's Fool
2. Frank Sinatra ~ New York, New York
3. Bloodhound Gang ~ The Bad Touch (Eiffel 65 Mix) - This is actually really fun.
4. Team America ~ Everyone has AIDs.
5. Cary Brothers ~ Something
6. Rocky Horror Picture Show ~ The Time Warp (Movie Version)
7. Red Hot Chilli Peppers ~ Don't Forget Me (Live Version)
8. Caramell Dansen.
9. Great Big Sea ~ Drunken Sailor
10. Restless Heart ~ What Might Have Been

The only song that came up I;d skips is Cary Brothers. Got it with the Scrubs soundtrack and I actually don't enjoy most of the music. I thought it would be a nice switch up but ended up "meh" about most of it.
Other than that I'd listen to most of these often enough without skipping though.

1. Alice Cooper - Hello Hurray
2. Electric Wizard - Saturn's Children (live)
3. Orange Goblin - Aquatic Fanatic
4. Jimi Hendrix - Hound Dog
5. Black Sabbath - Looking For Today
6. Mastodon - Iron Tusk
7. Ministry - Unsung

I really, really hate shuffle though. I tend to listen to albums rather than songs and I tend to want to listen to very specific music as well most of the time. Well, and I like knowing what to expect.

I enjoy shuffling playlists as opposed to entire music libraries- then, I get to stick to what I feel like listening to but still enjoy the element of surprise a little bit. I've also come to really love the "genius" feature on my nano.

Fun story- I had a first gen nano for yeeeaaars. It was pretty close to biting the dust but I couldn't give it up. Last year I got an email from Apple saying that they have problems with overheating or something like that and would I like to send it in for a replacement? And I was all "HELL YES". But I totally slacked off on sending it back....took me like 2 months to get my shit together. Anyway....because I waited so long, they were out of the replacement first gens and I got a brand spankin' new 6th gen for free. Wooot.

Want to shuffle again because this is lots o' fun-

1. Elton John- Someone Saved My Life Tonight
2. The Who- Baba O'Riley
3. Augustana- Boston
4. Everclear- Father of Mine
5. Queens of The Stone Age- No One Knows
6. Foo Fighters- My Hero
7. Ingrid Michaelson- Starting Now
8. Blue Oyster Cult- Burnin' For You
9. The Bravery- Swollen Summer
10. Ben Harper- Lifeline

I basically only listen to my library on shuffle - aside from the times when I want to listen to a particular band or genre.

Head Automatica - Beating Hearts Baby
Robbie Williams - Rock DJ
Wheatus - Truffles
Clockwork Orange OST (Wendy Carlos) - The Funeral of Queen Mary
The Network - Transistors Gone Wild
Jump, Little Children - Come Around
Blind Guardian - Blood Tears
Toto - Africa
Grizzly Bear - Two Weeks
Megadeth - Five Magics

Little cheese, you like a lot of the same bands I do!

:-D I love finding music buddies.

The two posts here sum up my musical tastes pretty well- lots of random alternative, some bizarre and funky dancey stuff, loads of classic rock, a mix of acoustic/singer/songwriter stuff. Lately I've been listening to a TON of oldies though. So much fun to bop around to!

Albums, not songs:

Sasha and John Digweed - Communicate
The Eagles - The Very Best of the Eagles (skipped; I am so fucking tired of the Eagles)
Anaal Nathrakh - Domine Non Es Dignus
Eiffel 65 - Europop
Matchbox 20 - More Than You Think You Are (christ, I haven't listened to this in ten years)
Chris Rice - Smell the Color 9 (some christian alt. rock album my mother bought me years ago. skipped.)
Pearl Jam - Vs. (I've literally never been able to listen to this album without tuning it out)
Penny Whiskey - Half-Corked
Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman

I listen to none of these regularly, except the Cat Stevens one.

Weeeell, I should have expected this. I know why I don't listen to my collection on shuffle… It's rather diverse, as my taste of music is constantly shifting…

Here it goes:
In Extremo - Spielmannsfluch
Infected Mushroom - Converting Vegetarians
Seeed - Ocean's 11
Parov Stelar - Booty Swing
Explosions in the Sky - Your Hand in Mine
Ludwig van Beethoven - Sinfonie Nr. 3 in Es-Dur, Op.55, "Eroica", 2. Satz "Marcia funebre (Adagio assai) (Conductor: Riccardo Chailly, Orchestra: Gewandhausorchester Leipzig)
Afro-Cuban All Stars - Alto Songo
Dropkick Murphys - The Warrior's Code
Nitrogenetics vs. DJ D - Melodic Art
Chris Barber and his Jazzband - Petite Fleur

well. I prefer playlists. In which I put multiple Albums. To which I listen from the beginning to the end.

I recently fell in love with the shuffle. I'll play.

Get back - Beatles.
The Great Escape/The Last Of You/Falling From The Moon - Marillion.
Murderer? - Queensryche.
They Think It's All Over - Skyclad.
Blues On The Corner - McCoy Tyner.
Carvin' The Rock (Alternative Take) - Clifford Brown.
Room 608 - Horace Silver.
Six mile Water - Therapy?
Dusk And Her Embrace - Cradle Of Filth.
The Man With A Horn - Nina Simone.

Nothing too embarassing. Although Skyclad without Martin is evil.

i'm mainly all about shuffle because most playlists i make are for an 8 hour workday or occasionally i'll go nuts and try to make one for a whole 40 hour workweek. and while i'm pretty nuts about it i can't rationalize putting in the additional effort to figure out what the best sequence of about 150 songs (typical number of one of the 8 hour playlists) would be. mainly i'm just all about making sure it's stuff that's the proper tempo for whatever sort of tasks i've got going on for the week. playlists for busy weeks packing and shipping a lot of orders are different than the ones for times when things are dead and i'm doing more filing/archiving. and i've got a lot of standup comedy albums on my ipod as well that, while enjoyable, require paying more attention to than music and are sometimes a bit risque' to play in a professional setting. this week is somewhere in the middle as far as what's going on task wise, so the last ten have gone as follows:

Macy Gray - Why Didn't You Call Me?
Bob Marley - Soul Shakedown Party
They Might Be Giants - Can't Keep Johnny Down
Billy Raygun - March 26th (gonna have to remember to try to include that in the Tuesday after next's playlist. it'll be totally meta.)
Sun Puddles - Worry Wart
Bodega Satellite - Genesis
The Break Evens - I Need You (To Go Away)
The Presidents Of The United States Of America - We Are Not Going To Make It
Regina Spektor - Two Birds
The Specials - Nite Klub

Sonic Youth - Scooter And Jinx (fucking terrible basically like listening to an F1 Grand Prix)
The Gutter Twins - The Body (like the rest of the album it came from, breathtakingly OKAY)
Beastie Boys - Groove Holmes (NEXT)
Tinariwen - Assoul (long sorta groovy African desert thing NEXT)
blink-182 - Down (depressingly the thing I've enjoyed most so far)
REM - Wanderlust (OH FUCK YOU SHUFFLE)
John Coltrane - Lazy Bird (now we are fucking talking)
Jeff Buckley - Murder Suicide Meteor Slave (what the fuck is this?)
Feeder - Burn The Bridges (Sorry, I fell asleep, what are we doing?)
Everytime I Die - Typical Miracle (okay then)
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - New Morning (fuck it that'll do)

Thanks for being disappointing shuffle function

Yeah but she's always breaking things.

I find she's more rude when she doesn't help you assemble anything, yet gives you instructions, she's very vague.

the worst thing is when you suddenly realize you've got the wrong tool and she really should have just told you that up front.

Wesley Willis - Your Way Right Away (makes me extra annoyed that i'm too broke between now and payday to even get a couple of $1.50 double cheeseburgers)
Guided By Voices - Everywhere With Helicopter (one of their best for sure)
Thought Breakers - Pack A Pen (local Jersey rap duo that I really wish had stuck together longer and recorded/released more)
Elvis Costello - New Lace Sleeves (good manners and bad breath will indeed get you nowhere)
Lewis Black - Farmville
R.E.M. - The One I Love
Jay-Z feat. Kanye West - Hate
Devo - The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprize (can't ever hear it without thinking about the video and chuckling about the flying baby)
Beck - Little One
ZZ Rop - Cheap Sunglasses

been a couple months since I've done one of these. it's my wife and i's 3rd wedding anniversary, so most of the playlist i'm listening to at work is the playlist from our reception and cocktail/dinner hours on shuffle along with a couple other hour's worth of random stuff since my workday is a couple hours longer than that. Every song without an asterisk next to it actually played at some point during our wedding day.

last 15 songs have been:

15. Polaris - She Is Staggering - Love this band and pretty much all things pertaining to Pete & Pete. Really wish they'd release the final season on DVD
14. The Clash - Lost In The Supermarket
13. Lagwagon - Raise A Family*
12. Paul Baribeau - I Thought I Could Find You
11. Slingshot Dakota - Until The Day I Die, Part 2
10. Jackie Wilson - (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher - It's one of the most beautiful and upbeat love songs ever, but I still to this day can't hear it without thinking of the jumping toaster/walking statue of liberty from Ghostbusters 2 or the end sequence of Death To Smoochy
9. Regina Spektor - Folding Chair*
8. The Ergs - Things I Could Never Find A Way To Say*
7. Lemuria - Mechanical
6. Stubborn Allstars - Citadel
5. The Five Stairsteps - Ooh Child
4. The Clash - Train In Vain*
3. Joey Ramone - What A Wonderful World*
2. Buju Banton - Only Man
1. Van Morrison - Jackie Wilson Said (I'm In Heaven When You Smile)
