1. The Beatles - Helter Skelter
2. Deep Purple - Hey Joe
3. Ozzy - Mr. Crowley (Quiet, you)
4. Bob Dylan - If Not For You (As much as I love Dylan... some of the songs on the bootleg series aren't too super).
5. Current 93 - The Sickstair Song (This is kind of a wtf shuffle song. I mean, C93 are great and all, but 30 seconds of a guy almost saying poetry but kinda not about... stairs and the people who fall down them doesn't really fit_
6. The Residents - Spotted Pinto Bean (Nostalgic memories, I can say that much).
7. Bal Sagoth - When RIdes the Scion of the Storms

2. Harvey Danger - War Buddies (4:25)
3. Buck 65 - 463 (3:45)
4. Babyshambles - In Love With A Feeling (2:51)
5. gorillaz - november has come (feat. mf doom) (2:41)
6. Ben Folds - Doctor My Eyes (3:11)

Ahh. This is much more like my current listening trends. Well, except for Babyshambles. I'm not quite sure why I haven't deleted that album by now.

Alright, it's late, I'm at work, the lights are off, and the beats are here.

(1) Nirvana - Melanie Blue :: This is Nirvana, the 60s psychedelic band.  This is on my work computer because I have to do testing on edge cases for the product I am designing, and figuring out what happens when you say "Play Nirvana" on a voice-operated stereo system when you for some reason have both the 90s Seattle band and this rather obscure psychedelic pop outfit in your collection is a rather interesting edge case.
(2) The Smiths - Plesase, Please, Please Let Me
(3) Steve Spacek - Hey There :: My roommate, as the manager of the local Hear Music (an "upscale" record store chain owned by Starbucks that specializes in recommendations, good service, and selling CDs at MSRP), often gets a number of promotional CDs from labels with, shall we say, decidedly adult tastes.  Translation: we have Starbucks Ray Charles comps and copies of Michael Buble's last release coming out our EARS at home.  Every now and then, however, something comes along that makes us happy to be so attuned to the 40-something aging ponytailed yuppie listening market, and Steve Spacek's spaced-out soul is just that.
(4) Tujiko Noriko - Niagara Hospital :: From Blurred in my Mirror, a much more noisy and nonstructural affair than her previous works.  It's quite good, luckily.
(5) 764-HERO - Loaded Painted Red :: Uhh, I guess this came from a 90s mix that an acquaintance made for me.  A group of four of us alternated making mixes from 1965-74, 75-84, 85-94, and 95-04.  I haven't really listened to this song at all, but I don't really like what I'm hearing as I play it right now.
(6) Prefab Sprout - Bonny :: Go buy Two Wheels Good.
(7) Mandarin Chinese Primer - Lesson 6j (Making Phone Calls And Scheduling Appointments) :: Yeah, I have mp3s of Mandarin Chinese lessons on my computer.  No, I have not yet reached Lesson 6.  Yes, it is both my hobby and my job (as a linguist) to learn more about languages.  No, I suppose I don't really need to learn new languages in my current capacity as a computational linguist.  No, I do not have the FET.

...Yes, I have dated three Asian-American girls in the last four years, but NO, I didn't seek them out simply because of their heritage or any physical or emotional qualities specifically stemming from their Asian or Asian-American heritage.  They were all very nice girls who happened to be interested in me.

...Yes, I lived in Japan for five months.  NO, I did not pursue Japanese girls!

...Yes, I lied.  Are we done here?

Vaguely on-topic, I like that Apple had to add the Smart Shuffle feature to actually make their shuffle LESS random because people couldn't handle the fact that it's statistically likely that two songs by the same group will come up consecutively.

It's in my top 10 maiden songs, actually. Ever since I worked out what it was about.

YOUR TIME WILL COME!

YOUR TIME WILL COME!

1: Anal Cunt - You Must Be Wicked Underground If You Own This (Damn right)
2: Cock Sparrer - I Feel a Death Coming On (Damn I love this song. Yeeeaaaah come on come on come on come oooooon!)
3: Yasushii Ishii - The Act of a Demon or the Work of God? (This man is a genius)
4: Hawkwind - Spiral Galaxy 28948 (Where's my bong?)
5: Skyclad - Karmageddon (The Suffering Silence) (I tend to overlook this track a bit. It sounds oddly like old Bal-Sagoth in places, now I think of it)
6: Aborym 0 The Alienation of a Blackened Heart (Aborym go Carpathian Forest, almost. Industrial black punk. Sweet as.)
7: Dokaka - The Trooper (Awesome personified)

Nah, nah. Crazy Train was Ozzy's Sympathy for the Devil, and if there's any Maiden track that fits that pattern it's Can I Play With Madness.

The Wicker Man is possesed of genuine heavy. It is also named after one of the best films ever.

I think it's up with Paschendale as their best since their reformation.

Khar, what movie IS it about? Ever since I figured out that Disciples of the Watch was about Children of the Corn, it seems that every other really amazing song is based on a bad B-rate science fiction flick.

6. Hit The City - Mark Lanegan (Mmm.)

7. Voodoo Lady - Ween (Ween, live. Saucesome.)
