Skibas I just had to post because I love you for having You're the One I Want on your mp3 player. That is my favorite song of theirs. You have now earned a place in my heart next to awesome shoes.

My stupid mp3 player keeps dying on me (damn electronics!) so I have no playlist.

What the hell, this thread is fun:

1. Unter Null - Sick Fuck (C-Drone Defect Mix)

Sweet, straight off the bat it picks one of my favourite tunes of the moment. Downright creepy remix, with a noisy 2-minute intro Venetian Snares would have been proud to shit out, followed by an awesome combination of pounding EBM and bangin' trance. Awesome.

2. Glis - The Irreparable(Feat. Jean-Luc De Meyer Of Front 242)

Yep this is pretty good.

3. The Dignity Of Labour - Utopia

Nice catchy pop, nothing complex or groundbreaking but danceable and happy. :)

4. Psyclon Nine - Rusted

Only got into this band recently so I'm not overly familiar with their stuff, but they are awesome. This doesn't seem to be any exception. The vocals might grate on some people's nerves after awhile though. RARGH DISTORTION.

5. Amduscia - Absolution

Awesome combination of heaviness and danceability. A+

6. Kraftwerk - Neon Lights

Yes I like gay synthpop what of it.

7. Din Fiv - Terminal Condition (Guilt Central Station Remix By AEC)

Vocals are kinda pish but it's not too bad a song.

The Doug Anthony All Stars - "Mexican Hitler" (God, I downloaded this song in about 2000 and probably haven't listened to it for about three years. Nifty little song, though. "Viva la führer!")

The Clash - "Police and Thieves" (Again, one I haven't listened to for a while. I'm really a bit over the Clash, at least for now.)

Bob Marley - "African Herbsman" (Quite an early recording, the quality of the audio is predictably quite poor.)

The Jesus and Mary Chain - "The Living End" (This song is so much better than the band who derive their name from it.)

Los Enanitos Verdes - "La Cordillera de los Andes" (A funky little number from what I believe is an Argentinian group.)

New Order - "Blue Monday" (Fuck, this song is awesome. I've been listening to it almost non stop for weeks, and it never fails to amaze.)

The Kinks - "A Well Respected Man" (I love this song, the lyrics are just so innocent and friendly.)

1. The Dog Song-- Nellie Mckay
2. If I Needed Someone --Nellie Mckay (My computer seems to be enjoying Nellie so far.  This is from the tribute album to Rubber Soul, excellent song in any form.)
3. Not About Love -- Fiona Apple (The Jon Brion version, which I still think is the true version of this song.  Fantastic song I've gotta say.)
4. Angelina-- Earl Klugh  (He's a jazz guitarist, I enjoy this song a lot, but I always forget I have it on my computer because I got it from itunes free download days.)
5. Open Letter to Duke -- Charles Mingus
6. You're Still a Young Man --Tower of Power
7. Mark and Carter Jam-- Mark Baston and Carter Beauford. (Came along as a bonus disc for the new DMB album stand up.  Kinda a throw-away as far as a bonus song goes, but it is a showcase for Carter Beauford, who is just a phenominal drummer, that I can't pass this song up completely.

Firing up my "full" WinAmp playlist with most of the Mike Oldfield and Jeam-Michel Jarre removed for Reasons of Taste (AKA I'm sick of them) gives:

1) Burning Airlines - "Paper Crowns"

Don't ask, because I don't know.  An Epitonic grab.

2) Marcy Playground - "Sleepy Eyes"

Not a favourite, but every credibly-sized music collection (and I'm aware some of you will have far more than me) needs some filler.

3) Tanya Donelly - "Lantern"

Part of my ongoing female vocalist thing.  Again, though, one of the weakest songs I have by the artist.

4) Lisa Gerrard - "Tempest"

Good voice, that woman.

5) Nerf Herder - "Theme from Buffy the Vampire Slayer"

<Austin Powers> It's not mine... </Austin Powers>

(I prefer the Breeders version. :))

6) Shack - "Cornish Town"

Heard the album this came from playing in my FLRS - possibly this track, now I think about it.  It was nice and cheap and I liked it, so seven United Kingdom pounds changed hands and it was mine.

7) Supersuckers - "I Want The Drugs"

Man, I love this track.  Second time today I've been obliged to mention it in a thread.  Fast, frenetic and funny.

1.Pretty Girls Make Graves - Domino
2.Dismemberment Plan - Superpowers
3.Dismemberment Plan - Face of the Earth (two songs from the same album in reverse order, how boring)
4. Devo - Come Back Jonee
5. Denali - Normal Days
6. Spoon - 30 Gallon Tank
7. Dismemberment Plan - Girl O'clock

Sooo apparently my computer likes to play a lot of Dismemberment Plan. I am fine with this.

Here's another go at the work iTunes Shuffle.  Let's see if we can't get something closer to home:

1. Frank Zappa - Peaches III :: A reworked version of "Peaches in Regalia" from the live Tinsel Town Rebellion.  I insisted that this track go on my company's demo of the speech recognition product that we're designing.

2. 1995-2004, Mixed by Me:: A mixed-together 74-minute set I made a couple weeks ago of some of my favorite tracks from this time period.  Includes some of my favorites like "Run Into Flowers" by M83, "Too Young" by Phoenix, "7777" by the Boredoms, "Transit" by Fennesz & David Sylvian, and more.

3. Gary Numan - Ice :: A relic from Numan's old punk/new wave days before he became a synth-popper (as catalogued on The Plan).  Not great, but enjoyable.

4. Television - Elevation :: Fitting that this track from Marquee Moon should come up this time around.  I know and love Marquee Moon but I really can't get into Adventure, which is where the Television track on the last shuffle round came from.

5. Mathematiques Modernes - Disco Rough :: Very enjoyable synth-pop/punk track from Tigersushi late 70s-early 80s French underground compilation So Young But So Cold.  I highly recommend.

6. Sloan - Everything You've Done Wrong :: One of the better tracks on one of my favorite albums when I was growing up.  These were the premier Canadian power-poppers when the New Pornographers were still just a twinkle in Carl Newman's eye.

7. Bulldog Breed - Austin Osmanspare :: Early psychedelic rock from the Decca psychedelia/prog compilation Legend of a Mind.  Also quite a good compilation.

You win for getting renditions of Zappa songs (Especially really good ones like Peaches...) into speeches. Propaganda FTW

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

1. King Diamond - Heads on the Wall Classic from the King. The bit in the middle where it totally cranks up as he starts murdering people is great. Some wonderfully silly falsettos as well
2. Blind Guardian - Lord of the Rings NERD ALERT.
3. Hammerfall - Stronger Than All Totally brilliant power metal. Horns in the air for pretty much the whole thing. "no-one will ever bring us to heel!"
4. Dunwich Childrens Chorale - Cthulhu Lives! "He is not dead that dreams, till that fateful day, when they set the old ones free on mankinds final day, hey! Cthulhu lives! Cthulhu lives! Deep down in the sea, in the city of Rl'yeh, waiting to be free, hey!". To the tune of 'Jinglebells'. Kids singing. Rule.
5. Venom - Sacrifice Fuck I love Venom.
6. Ulver - A Memorable Fancy Plates 17-20 "ANANGELCAMETOMEANDSAIDOHPITYTHEFOOLISHYOUNGMAN. OHHORRIBLEOHDREADFULSTATE CONSIDERTHEBURNINGDUNGEONTHOUARTPREPARINGFORTHYSELFFORALLETERNITY" What the fuck are you doing Ulver? What the FUCK? Avant-garde metal meets dub meets ambient? With lyrics taken straight from William Blake? WHAT THE FUCK!?
7. Inkubus Sukkubus - Paint it Black I crai now. :(

1. The Animal Collective - The Purple Bottle
I have been known to fall asleep to AC. Like Loveless it just makes me sleepy which is a shame since it is definitely exciting semi-tribal fun.

2. Ozomatli - Aqui No Sera
sounds like the soundtrack to tTropico except there is vocals, it is very latin.
Maybe it would be better if my spanish was good enough to actually understand the lyrics. Who knows.

3. The Notwist - Pilot
from Neon Golden, good song.

4. At the Drive-In - Mannequin Republic
One of the more anonymous songs on Relationship of Command.
Wait I was wrong, there are no anonymous tracks on that album.

5. Pluto - Natjager
Danish slowcorish pop that I like a bit but I cannot take the lyrics. These everyday poetic snapshots provokes me to no end. I don't know why really.

6. Björk - Isobel
It's Björk, in most cases you either love her music or hate it with a passion. I love her music and hate Dancer in the Dark.

7. Kaizers Orchestra - Christiania(as in Oslo I think)
There are two really spectacular bands in Skandinavia, Under Byen and Kaizers Orchestra.
