He's gone, but not forgotten.

Paul Kemp:
Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, but it was the most recent Elliott Smith thread I found, and so, yeah...

I just got a new unreleased elliott demo anonymously by YSI, and it's on my site.  That's all.

(oh yeah, my site; it's in the music forum.  I don't know why I didn't just give you the direct link to the page, but now that I've typed all this out, it's too late to care.

Paul Kemp:

I don't understand how you can miss somebody's music if you're still listenning to it. It's not like you sold all your CDs is it? When a musician dies, mourn a little while, then get back to listenning to the music they did put out.

Well, except for the occasional low bitrate leak of unreleased,  unfinished songs that are better than most pop artists A-game, it is sad to know that there's no more new music coming from him :(

Faw:
i loved elliott smith's music, but i still laughed my ass off when the emotron said in an interview that he was "more suicidal than elliott"

Jeridus:
I got into ES's music when Royal Tenenbaums first came out, cause of Needle In The Hay in Ritchie's big scene, and it remains pretty much my favourite Elliott Smith song, ranking right above Waltz #2 and A Fond Farewell. He definitely pumped out some good music in his day

Phrozen:
A friend of mine got me into Elliott Smith's work.

Unfortunately it was long after he died. I find his music really haunting, mostly because he's dead.

Also, my friend was really pissed when he killed himself because ES is what kept her from offing herself. Wierd how that works.

Oh yes, forgot to mention my favorite songs:

Say Yes
Ballad of Big Nothing
Speed Trials
Rose Parade
Punch and Judy
Pictures of Me

>.> <.< >.> OK... so I like a lot of his stuff. Sue me.
