come on kids what do you think of the new placebo albumn in which they attempt to stray from the nancy boy image? I personally love it .... especially the live footage on the bonus dvd where they do a song with the cure

When it's got tracks about boys whose voices 'made him cry', how is it not a nancy-boy album?

The single sounded exactly like their last single...

Listening to the album a couple times (distracted mind you) I found there wasn't really any stanadout tracks.  Listening to the older stuff there were a few songs that interrupted whatever I was doing to go, "wow, thats good shit".

I'll admit some Albums do get under my radar like that.  Most notably Bloc Party's Silent Alarm.  Listening through when I got it didn't do shit, but for some reason I gave it anothher go a while ago and shit, it hit the spot.

I think that Silent Alarm is extremely patchy. The good songs are amazing. The bad songs just leave me completly cold. And the random, needless f-word in the middle of one song pisses me off no end. I mean why do you need to swear when your lyrics are meaningless bullshit anyway?

I was pretty disappointed. The songs were pretty similar to one another. Usually on past albums there was a real range from the more upbeat song to the slower and more thoughtful ones; here there was no difference. Aah, well. It doesn't change the fact that Brian Molko is hot.
