Three years ago; when the Pentium M first came out. A gig of RAM in a laptop? A DVD burner? These were not cheap items.
edscoble:
I remember my PowerBook G3 Pismo, 400MHz, 64mb RAM, 12GB hard drive, DVD-ROM, 2.7kg, 5 hours battery, that thing was nearly $4000!
that was 6 years ago, why the hell did I spend that much?
SpacemanSpiff:
--- Quote from: nihilist ---They are? Sounds like my Dell 600m. 14.1" (1400x1050), ATI Radeon, 1GB RAM, DVD writer, 60GB HD. Cost me $3300 (with a huge discount since a Dell employee snagged it for me) then, costs like $1500 now.

The resolution sounds awesome, but the problem is: This configuration either doesn't exist anymore (I just checked, hoping for a good deal) or doesn't exist in Germany.
There's one 14.1" laptop (D610) with a seperate GPU, but it has an X300 which is ridiculous.
So, my search continues...
nihilist:
Well, the 600m is now the M20. Give that a whirl.
Edit: Oh, and these are generally under small business laptops, not under the home shite.
edscoble:
if you look closely they come with an optional 1440x1050
like this M20 vv and it's under the home section too.

normal 1024x768 or optional 1440x1050
(the M20 is an excellent laptop, slighty old but golden design and as light as an 12inch iBook)[/b]
