I'm getting Reagan eighties flashbacks, and I'm Gorbachev.  This business is gonna bankrupt me.

I expanded my HD array by 100GB, and I love the elbow room.  Being a fairly patient lad, ATA133 is just fine (until the next box, anyway).

Solstice, we have pretty damn near the exact same desk. Look at my pic on the previous page. Creepy.

(well, not really creepy, 'cause it's probably a mass-produced piece of furniture that's in every single cheap furniture retailer.)

Here's a rough picture of my computer setup.

Here's a closeup of the chassis.

Okay, here's my present rig. this is an off-the-shelf Compaq from PC World that was always going to be a stand-in until I could find the time to build a new one.

Pentium 4, 3.4Ghz processor
1Gb DDR Ram
250Gb HDD, with a 250Gb external drive as a backup medium
256Mb ATI Radeon X300 graphics card.

The shopping list I'm presently going with for the replacement:

opteron 140 CPU @ 2.6
Asus A8N mobo
2gb XMS3200C2PT RAM
X1900 XT 512MB Graphics
320GB Hard Drive
Tagan 580W Power Supply

As recommended by a friend of a friend who works for Overclockers UK.
