--- Quote from: Trollstormur ---Valfar of Windir. Got lost on the way to his cabin, froze to death.
--- End quote ---

While I already kenw this, I have to stress how grim and frostbitten that death is.

Also, obligitory Elliott Smith post.

Kai:
Yeah, it's a pretty good way for black metal people to die.

And I totally second the Finntroll guy. Such a loss.

and of course. Frank. Fucking. Zappa.

ImRonBurgundy?:

Cleanhead Gimura (the dude wearing the top hat): frontman/toaster/guitarist, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.  died of an illness in '93 or '94.  details are extremely hard to come by.  following Gimura's death, alto saxophonist Tatsuyuki Hiyamuta took up the bulk of his duties.

Todd Eckhardt: bassist and songwriter for The Pietasters.  died 11/04/01 of a viral heart infection.

D. Boon: guitarist, singer, and songwriter for The Minutemen.  died at the age of 27 in an automobile accident.

Freezey:
the Exploding Hearts... 3/4 of them died in a tragic van accident. Their one full length "Guitar Romantic" was an excellent disc of power-pop.
