I got hold of the album that makes up the gta3 soundtrack (Scientist Rids the World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires) with the Roots Manuva and some King Tubby following close behind.

So far, good!

There are two, Youth the new one and his debut Shake off the dust... ARISE. However the old one seems to be out of print, it's on some torrents though.

Well, the big three (IMO) original dub essentials are King Tubby, Scientist and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Album wise I'd get 'Scientist wins the world cup', The Congos - The Heart of the Congos (Produced by Lee Perry) and pretty much any King Tubby compilation.

The fact that I now share musical taste with you is slightly terrifying, and getting more so if you liked the Roots Manuva album.

Modern wise, you could go digidub, but it's not really my scene, and I don't know much about it. Otherwise, I second Mad Professor vs Massive Attack - No Protection, as it's an amazing album even if you don't like Massive Attack. Or go add some Electronica and listen to Pole. Any album. Or add Post-Rock and try Him - Many in high place's are not well (No, not the retarted 'heartagram' rubbish, different band, same name.)

Or, and this is the option I really recommend, add a bit of the British 'ardkore continuum (Jungle, 2step, etc) and get some Dubstep. Seriously, my favourite genre at the moment. If you want to keep it dark and abrasive then check out Loefah, Vex'd, DJ Distance. Also Burial, Boxcutter, Kode9, Digital Mystikz and Skream.
For the love of God listen to it with the bass turned up REALLY LOUD, or you're going to miss the point entirely. Because the point is bass.
