Just curious if anyone here's gotten to see them. I haven't, though I'm hoping to if I get the chance (possibly at Lollapalooza) and I'd like to hear any opinions.

They're great. I saw them live a few years back in the Ilosaarirock festival.

Oh, man. They're wicked awesome live. Saw them at the Heartbreak Hotel in Providence. One of my favorite shows ever.

10 minutes of improv. guitar static, some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.

i realise that i am slightly buzzed on coffee in the toliets of a boeing 737 rubbing a wet rock on myself. if you've ever had a similar moment of clarity i think you may be able to relate to the feeling.

I haven't seen them since 1995, so I can't really comment on their performances post "Washing Machine."  I saw them first in 1992 on the Dirty tour with the Boredoms opening up (most underappreciated moment by the audience, Thurston and eYe doing a duet at the end of the night), and they just tore the place up.  The hall had no acoustics though, so the sound in the back was painful.  Saw them on Lollapalooza 95 as well, which also wasn't bad (although they played more songs off of Experimental Jet Set than I really wanted to hear).  Bonus: Played Schizophrenia for the encore, which ruled.

Hey, ear-splitting guitar feedback is awesome.

Edit: Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to listen to Bad Moon Rising with the volume cranked up as high as it'll go. FUCK YEAH.

Sonic Youth are one of the best live acts I've ever seen. Go.
