Actually, the only Kamelot album I own is their latest, the Black Halo, but it's totally fucking great. Seriously, if all power metal was as tasteful, the genre wouldn't be such a massive joke.

there were WARS to stop that kind of shit from erupting into the world.

--- Quote from: TrueNeutral ---I picked up Doomsday Machine last saturday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Coming from someone who usually can't stomach death metal vocals, that's gotta mean something. Nemesis and Mechanic God Creation are sufficiently awesome for me to freak out over them.

That's only because her "death" vocals aren't good death vocals.

Storm Rider:
Even I can't get into all death vocalists. Trying to imagine Spirit Crusher without Chuck's ridiculously over-the-top vocal delivery is difficult though. I don't think it'd be nearly as much fun.

Soidanae:
I have to say, though, listening to the extra material on Wages of Sin made me cringe.

No, I'm sorry, "Aces High" doesn't work with yells.

The thing I'm really enjoying about the album, though, is how much songs like "Burning Angel" and "Heart of Darkness" almost sound like pop songs, wiht strong, would-be-melodic-without-the-roar choruses and great harmonies.  I would be really curious to hear the same band, except with an operatic vocalist instead, just to wonder at the magnificence that would ensue.
