I saw the islands live two nights ago in Northampton, MA. It was significantly better than their recorded sound, mainly due to several songs that aren't on the album which are actually better than the album material. The most notable of these is a song called "I Feel Evil (Creeping In)". The chorus is insanely catchy, and I really hope they record this song properly someday, as all of the live recordings of it are not very good quality. The best part of the show, though, was at the end when they brought their instruments outside and walked around northampton while playing randomness, with me and the rest of the audience surrounding them. I wish I had a picture :-)

Man. They're coming here (Vancouver) and their show only costs 14 bucks. Problem is, I can't go because I've got exams.

They sound really awesome.

Damn they were SUPPOSED to be opening for Metric a few weeks ago when they came through town, I was going to go but than all the sudden they weren't opening any more so I decided not to. Hopefully they come by Winnipeg soon.

I saw them when they came to Vancouver a month ago, and thought they did a really rad live show.
They were opening for Metric then.

You know what else is awesome and used to open for Metric?!
The Lovely Feathers.
Listen to them.

Why? and Cadence Weapon also played some good sets that night. I couldn't stay for all of Islands because I had a meet early the next day.

I saw their very first show in Cambridge Mass. They were excellent!!! I highly enjoyed them and I recommend you guys go see them.

Did the lead singer come out with an astronaut helmet in the other shows?

He came out in a helmet during that show? Damnit, this is what happens when you're short and can't see over the tall people. Did they do anything else interesting that I might have missed?

Yeah man, I had to go to that same meet too. I would've totally skipped it if I knew that crazy shit like that was gona go down, now i'm sad on the inside.

But hey, Cadence and Why? still rocked, as well as the Islands.

Plus, Cadence Weapon does beat out Sage Francis any day in my book.

I thought the violin player with the black bow-tie was so cute. He was just so into the music, just jumping all around the place.

Nick had the short people in mind when Islands opened for Metric in Montreal.

He performed the first song of the night, "Humans", while atop someone's shoulders, wearing a large cloak. It was awesome.
