Very cliched but I think its pretty cool to have a song when in a relationship.

My girlfriends and mine is Mint Car - The Cure. If people don't know the cure to well it kinda gives people strange ideas.

Anyone else?

My life has been remarkably devoid of relationships, but I don't think that I would really have a "song" with my partner.  I could have songs that reminded me of them, but that's not quite the same.

the last relationship i had that had its own song was...well im not sure; a long time ago. but our song was Saturday Night by The Misfits (newfits, for those in the know).
more recently my very best friend and i have found ourselves in a very strange situation and Save You by Pearl Jam became our 'song'

Two relationships ago it was Erin McKeown - Slung Lo
which was an awesome song to have as our song.

My most recent relationship didn't have a song.

Here Without You by Three Doors Down.

Semi-long distance later becoming long distance, so it helped a bit, plus expressed our feelings.

The problem is that the "your song" has gotta be a song you dont like too much or else if and when you split the song may have a negative connotation and then you cant listen to it without becoming an emo boy.

I'm waiting for someone to call on "I'll Follow You Into the Dark", so I can pounce on them with a wave of the "I CALLED IT" flag. I suppose this post explaining my intentions will destroy any chance of said situation, so I also suppose this is a useless post. Go figure. Maybe it'll eat itself. That would be handy.

The last girl? Leonard Cohen's Suzanne.

I'm pretty glad that ended on a good note just because it's a bitchin' song and I like to listen to it.

I didn't have a song in my last relationship, mostly because it didn't last long enough.  Kind of "Sing Me Spanish Techno" but that was just because it was kind of a joke between us.

Before that though, it was less a song and more everything by the Decemberists.  It's kind of a shame, I've had a hard time listening to them since then.  Plus tastes have changed since then, so not totally the relationships fault.

My last and I had a couple. "Frozen Sky" by Cevin Key was one. It's a brilliant track.  We also used to listen to "Half Life" by Sneaker Pimps and the whole of I, Parasite's "On This Cold Floor", particularly the track "Spoke".

I'm not, and have never been part of a couple, so I don't have any.

I do, however, have any number of "songs that remind me of a girl":

Counting Crows - A Long December
The Cure - Jupiter Crash
Roots Manuva - Mind 2 Motion
Soundgarden - Blow Up The Outside World

and more!

Well my last relationship we had kinda three, being The Universal by Blur and Lucky Man and Bittersweet Symphony by Richard Ashcroft.

My last relationship...hmmm. I dunno if we really had a song. Possibly Debaser by Pixies, because we first screwed to Doolittle.

Well, couldn't really call it a relationship, but we do have songs. I'd have to say Built To Spill's Distopian Dream Girl or something off Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot album. Probably Heavy Metal Drummer, in DynamiteKid's sense of thinking about it.

I wish I was any good at singing. As it is I hate the sound of my voice when I'm even speaking let alone singing. Although I HAVE been known to sing very loudly and badly to Boston's self-titled album (can anyone seriously listen to that album and NOT be happy?) while driving the car. I scare pedestrians at red lights.

And that 'literally they are shit' thing is bollocks. They are not actually formed of shit. Besides, a joke based on them being 'the shit' is way too easy and boring.

Only had one relationship that had a song and it was Ben Lee's "Catch My Disease" which is a weird as hell song to have for a relationship but it pretty much encapsulated it.

I have a friendship that has a song. My friend Sam and I promised eachother we'd only marry ugly women. Now, knowing this, guess what our song is...
