See Peach can stay still (in hover mode) as well as drift sideways and could change directions (in both hover and umbrella). I hope she gets a small buff in the speed department to make up for her losing that edge; though it might encourage more people to get in the air and let me neutral-a them to hell and back.

Diddy Kong has snuck into alot of Mario games in the past though. I've seen him in Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, Mario Power Tennis, and Mario Kart Double Dash. And Diddy Kong IS owned by Rare. Donkey Kong is the only character that Nintendo came up with. Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong and all the rest were made by Rare

I think Nintendo retains all the rights to all properties and characters pertaining to the Donkey Kong games, including Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, Funky, and all the other Kongs that nobody remembers nor cares about, as well as King K. Rool and the Kremlins (which is why they showed up as goalies in Mario Strikers) and etc. In addition, I think they own all the characters from Diddy Kong Racing, with the exceptions of Banjo and Conker.
It's pretty much the same deal as the Sonic the Hedgehog comics that Archie Comics made, as well as DIC's cartoon series. Any additional characters that those companies created automatically became properties of Sega.
