Storm Rider:
But why do we as gamers care about anybody's holiday lineup? It's not like Nintendo has to worry about money at this point, so it only benefits us for them to give them the extra time to make sure it comes out perfectly. I'd much rather it get delayed and have to wait a couple months for it than to have it rushed out in December with a broken online mode or something. Besides which, December 3rd is barely even squeaking into the holiday season as far as financial logic goes. It's after Black Friday and after most of the foot traffic has died down. Nintendo really loses nothing by putting this game out two months later, and we as gamers only benefit.

And as far as I'm concerned, if you're not pumped for Super Mario Galaxy, you're a heartless communist.

--- Quote from: Thy Dungeonman on 14 Oct 2007, 12:53 ---I'm guessing that if the game is made in Japan, he's always Eggman before they translate it to Robotnik for the American and European release. That's probably just an "Eggman" that slipped through.

Actually, they didn't edit any of the art within the games between translations. That's why it's like that. Zone names are also always in English. All they do is translate / localize  (some might argue bastardize in the case of storyline) the packaging and manuals between regions.
Modern games have Eng and JP voices, and subtitles in a number of languages. Signs and stuff may have different textures, depending, as well.

I have no interest in Fire Emblem, GayGamer said NiGHTS wasnt that great,I'd rather have a good graphics Guitar Hero 3, I dont think anyone cares about  Manhunt 2 (and if they did they'd probably buy it on a diff. system), again with MoH, Umbrella Chronicles is a railshooter, which means noone will care much (they STILL could though), Bully: Scholarship Edition is a remake (as you said) and alot of people (like me) dont like to play games over and over again.

But I could be totally wrong and they're on the 10 best selling games of the holiday season..

0bsessions:
Your personal tastes are completely irrelevant to me. That series of games still gives Nintendo what is probably, overall, the strongest holiday lineup of all three consoles. Halo 3's already out, Assassin's Creed is suffering alleged issues (Both with the PS3's RAM and the 360's disc capacity) and GTA delayed, Mass Effect, Guitar Hero 3, Rock Band and, to an extent, Virtua Fighter 5  are the only games with any big sales potential for the 360 of note (Off the top of my head, anyway) with the PS3 having even less (Ratchet & Clank is the only exclusive I can picture having any real success) aside from the multiplatforms like GH3 and Rock Band.

Calling Nintendo's holiday lineup outright weak is completely idiotic.

Storm Rider:
I will say that although I'm totally stoked for Mass Effect, this holiday season isn't quite the murderer's row everyone was making it out to be. A bunch of the really great-looking stuff got delayed, and with Halo 3 already out of the way that sort of diminishes the excitement of the holiday season itself.

And personally, I'm more interested in seeing Uncharted and Haze as far as PS3 games go. Rachet and Clank looks great and all, but it's functionally the same game that it's been for the entire series. So I could really take it or leave it.

Of course, like I said before, I'm one of the only people on this continent that gives a shit about Fire Emblem, so maybe my priorities don't necessarily match up with the market at large. Also, Jon, you forgot Battalion Wars 2 on your list of Wii games.
