I'm a little confused about the wording on Manaphy's description:

Does that mean that you don't take damage as the other character, or that the damage is applied to your damage meter? The latter makes more sense, but the wording implies the former to me. Any thoughts?

I think it just means you keep your damage meter, you don't get your opponents.

But Sparkster absolutely OOZES Smash Material! I want another Konami character in my smash, even if it a Genesis game intitally!
Also, Famitsu giving the game a perfect score feels to me a lot like Electric Playground going on and on about how Tommy Tallarico's score for Earthworm Jim 2 is so awesome on the CD versions of the game. (Y'know, he'd be pretty cool in the game too! (Jim, that is, not Tallarico.))
