I don't know about your question, but the one thing I can say after listening to the two tracks is the Brawl arrangement is fucking amazing.

Actually, Sonic Heroes had some REALLY GOOD music in it, too. I love the music for Ocean Palace, Power Plant, and Lost Jungle in particular. The only complaint I have is that I would have liked more thematic consistency between the music for levels, like in Sonic 3.

But yeah, GHZ theme is totally in there. So rock out with that. Even if practically none of the other tracks seem appropriate for that stage. I mean, if they had gone with a full orchestrated version of Ocean Palace, I think that would have been a LOT cooler than just having the game's theme song.

I would actually prefer the Brawl music. Listening to the two, the remix makes me think of classic Sonic games, which is well and good, but this is neither a classic Sonic game nor a racing game. The Brawl music does give it an... "edgier" sound (and I use the word loosely) and has a frantic gotta beat em all appeal to it.

I just downloaded the full soundtrack rip and I am NERDING OUT SO HARD.  It's like the Smash Bros. team went to me personally and said, "Happy birthday.  Here is the music of your childhood."

I already made it so text messages do the Legend of Zelda "You found a secret door using a bomb" noise.
