Music to sleep to.

(1/14) > >>

Jono:
Lying awake last night, I was treated to the amazing sleeping tones that were my flatmates cracking up to the life aquatic. It got me thinking... I should really get a stereo (i can't sleep with earphones, it sucks...) and some music to play to go to sleep to.

So, being the incredibly divergent, diverse bunch that we are... has anybody thought about this before? Can we sing out some bands?

I'm thinking quite melodic but breathy music. IE, I think the thing that would make it good sleeping music would be if the music is relatively uninteresting and smooth flowing. If I go to sleep to Sigur Ros, or to the French Kicks, then I'll be moved along as the album moves - and I'll be tempted to listen, which keeps me up later! This is not the objective.

Soothing sounds that prompt sleep are the objective. Maybe like an instrumental sigur, or something... Go!

Mazzy Star, Jose Gonzalez, The American Analog Set

lali puna -- i thought i was over this

put disk two on shuffle and it's so subdued quite and spacey you'll be out like a light in no time. flat.

poeticallybored:
I've been going to bed with Architecture in Helsinki's Fingers Crossed the past couple nights.
