There's a local band called 'The Windows' who started off as a Doors tribute band, quipping that where Morrison had walked through the Doors of Perception, they had just peeked through the windows.
They're quite good actually.

The band Love Like Blood took their name from the Killing Joke song, to my knowledge.
The Eyeball Kid:
Augie March got their name from a charcter in a book. possibly Russian
The Decemberists were a Russian revolutionary group. as in overthrowing the gov'ment, not like music group. they failed, apparenlty
