OH IT IS ON: Summer Concert Season 06

<< < (14/16) > >>

Garcin:
Lady Sovereign/The Streets tonight at Webster Hall.  I anticipate being one of the three people there more interested in seeing Lady Sov than Mike Skinner.  But I don't care.

Trollstormur:

--- Quote from: Trollstormur ---goin' a see Graveworm, Vader, Destruction and Kataklysm tomorrow. plus two other bands who sound like they suck hard.

Well, the 2nd tour bus broke down somewhere, so I saw Destruction, Kataklysm and Vader. I really, really wanted to see Graveworm, but being able to see Destruction play Bestial Invasion was good enough for me. On the plus side, I didn't have to sit through those two other crappy bands.

Ziggy:
yay for canadian summer concerts

a free show this weekend with the dears & jason collett at harbor front

the hold steady at the end of july

wolf parade & frog eyes

if I have money maybe futureheads too.

also, it was announced on the radio that dfa79/constantines/arcade fire are going to do a show at olympic island in august. I can't seem to find any information about it though, has anyone else heard about it?

Garcin:
I want to see DFA 1979 so hard.  Are there plans for  second album (not counting that remix bs)

sjbrot:

--- Quote from: Johnny C ---This is the first I've heard of the Winnipeg arrangements not workin'. Hotel, then, I guess?

Oops. That's not the best way to find out. Sorry.

While I'm at it, I can't make it to your wedding (whenever that may be) or any of your birthdays for the next five years. It's easiest to tell you this way.

As per a new DFA 1979 album, they aren't planning one, they're planning three, or at least according to this vintage Pitchfork post. I haven't heard anything more than that, and the news item says it was supposed to be out spring 2006. If they are still recording the album they've been tight lipped about it.

Maybe Jesse just wants to devote more time to MSTRKRFT.
