Yes, I do like Ben Folds, now shut up about it.
I won't shut up about it, because I also heart Ben Folds.
I am about to sound horrifically out of place. Due to its mainstream subject matter, what I am about to say will likely get me lynched, if what I've read so far is sufficiently indicative of the local tastes here:
I'm listening to the new BNL album,
Barenaked Ladies Are Me. I'm very fond of it, I even liked it on the first listen, and I rarely like anything the first time I hear it. It's a very melodic album, much more so than previous collections, and while nothing on the disc strikes me as especially catchy (the disappointing
Everything to Everyone had several extremely catchy songs, despite being an overall below average BNL album), something about it just makes it stick to me like moist stuffing. One thing that I
really love about this album is the fact that there isn't a single song on it that I genuinely don't like. Even
Stunt, which is supposed to be their best album, has one or two songs that I usually skip.
Commence lynching.
