Destroyer - Rubies (from Destroyer's Rubies)

I listened to this album for a while without really being able to make any sense of it, and then all of a sudden in the course of one listen it was like every hook on the album (and there are a lot of them) finally penetrated my consciousness. So basically I just convulsed like a gangster being riddled with bullets from a tommy gun for fifty or so minutes.

That was a few weeks ago, but Destroyer's Rubies has proven to have impressive staying power; I still want to listen to it pretty much every day and I have to force myself to try new stuff instead. It's a great, great album.

That more or less sums up March for me. And even now, daily, I'm still listening to Painter In Your Pocket at the very least.

"Reverberation (doubt)" - ZZ Top

This cover of Roky Erickson ftw. Roky Erickson himself ftw. I need to find a torrent of his "Gremlins Have Pictures" compilation thing, 'cause that version of "Night of the Vampire" is the best one I've heard.

Stopped listening to this fucker years ago because every damn CD sounds the same. The new one isn't exactly blindingly original but it's pretty fun.

Sage Francis is awesome.  I am listening to the new Converge...again.  I'm also downloading a few songs by Only Living Witness, because the singer from that band did a guest spot on the new Converge cd, and I loved how his vocal delivery sounded.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

I'm listening to a lot of Sufjan Stevens lately. I really love "Illinoise" and "Seven Swans". In some sort of way his music really touches me. Not that I'm like religious or something, it's just that I love the lyrics and the intense music.

Hah, me and my friend always argue about that. She likes Sgt. Pepper and I like The White Album.

I'm listening to King Crimson - Epitaph. I love me some prog rock, I do.

Well, as far as the best Beatles song goes, I'd have to say it's either A Day in the Life or Happiness is a Warm Gun.

Explosions in the Sky - Memorial

The song that got me into Explosions in the Sky.  I can't really understand why so many people are in love with Your Hand in Mine, because all the other songs on The Earth is Not A Cold Dead Place are so much better.  Also: new EITS album in February!  And they will tour the Midwest finally, so that means I will be attending their Minnesota concert!
