Stormlord - Where my Spirit Forever Shall Be

Weird overly happy Gothicy power metal with BM vocals, sound is pretty odd it's like Sonata Arctica meets Immortal.

hungbunny podcasts. They touch on a heap of different styles of noise. Sometimes with rythmn, sometimes without. Sometimes static, other times fast. Sometimes really harsh, but the vast majority of the time stomachable.

If you're into noise or think you might be into noise I'd really recommend checking them out. Number 96 is probably one my favourites so far.

Sabbat - Do Dark Horses Dream of Nightmares?

Now I see that this quest is
A test of my fidelity -
Has God forsaken me?
When maddness sings his lullaby a

Nightmare filled with unknown things -
To cast aspersion on my sanity.

Sabbat is just all kinds of awesome.

Fucked Up - Hidden World.

A lot of people are calling the these the 'Sonic Youth' of hardcore. I don't know if that's accurate at all, and it's probably blasphemy to a lot of you guys here, but I really dig this band a lot one way or the other!

I am actually looking forward to this one, though I don't have any prior experience with them. They have moved the release date haven't they?

I think it's sometime this month for Europe and sometime in April for everyone else.

To Get Down - Timo Maas

A good song, featured in The Italian Job (The new one), when Charlie and Stella are driving in her little "old" (which has a new interior) mini to the storage yard for all the cargo freight containers. Also featured later on again when they are preparing to storm the house (i.e. the traffic control, left-ear blowing the gate, etc). Very repetitive, but if you're bored enough - you won't give a rats.

Windir's 1184 is the best Viking album I've heard but Twilight of the Gods is quite awesome.

Currently playing:
Limbonic Art - Towards The Oblivion Of Dreams

I just found out Limbonic Art are re-united and are putting out a new album this year, I cannot describe how happy this makes me, they are a seriously, seriously under appreciated band.

Oooh and I also bought tickets to see Arcturus in Sydney on the 30th of March, I found out Astriaal are opening for them, which kicks arse because I really enjoy their "Renascent Misanthropy" album quite a lot. I've not really got into the last Arcturus album but it's worth paying the $45 just for Astriaal IMO.

All in all it's been a pretty sweet day for me...

Yndi Halda - A Song For Starlit Beaches

I'm not exactly an expert on post-rock (whatever that is) but on the first listen, this is already sounding like it could be one of my favourite albums - "We Flood Empty Lakes" is epic.

"What It's Like" - Everlast (well, rather, I'm playing it on the guit-tawr and singing it 'cause I found lyrics in the interLOL)

Also, I saw Ted Leo + Pharmacists at Stanford University on March 4. It was awesome shit, he was inspiring in how much he seemed to be having an awesome time. I convinced one of his roadies to go back and have him sign my ticket. Be jealous.

Sweet :D can't wait 'til the UK gigs, fuckin' months away though. The anticipation may well kill me.

I might buy that Windir album then. Which Limbonic Art album is a musthave?

LN: well, actually, I am humming Placebo while contemplating how shrill Brian Molko's voice really is. Found two great bands today though. German heavy hc combo Zann and the odd Japanese ethno-sludge band Birushanah. The latter is releasing an album on the aussie Missing Link label in the near future.

Which Limbonic Art album is a musthave?

Hmm I like different things about each of their albums but "Moon in the Scorpio" is what most people regard as their 'best' album. It's definately their most symphonic album, it's strange the way Limbonic Art evolved, rather then starting out BM and becomming more and more symphonic, they sort of proceeded in the opposite direction,  by their last album they were basically playing blackened thrash, with a few keyboard florishes every now and then..
