Entombed - Evilyn

I think those sound clips from horror movies(and The Wicker Man?) work really well. It's a step up from Left Hand Path but I am not sure why. Maybe because they are less frantic, nearer hard rock and thereby closer to Wolverine Blues. Maybe the songs are just better, the playing is certainly spectacular.

A Hawk and A Hacksaw are truly an excellent musical group.  The former drummer from Neutral Milk Hotel is one of the main members.  Is anyone else here a fan?

Hollenthon - Reprisal - Malis Avibus

These lyrics are amazing taken from Percy Shelley apparently

The ticking hour of Father Time releases memories locked in mind
A wandering beggar digging holes in all unspoken deeds of old
A yellow death lay on his face, a smile so fixed not of this race
Indeed he'd known where he would go, to where he feared it clearly showed

The devil I can safely tell
Has neither hoof, nor tail, nor sting
Nor is he, as some sages swear,
A spirit, neither here nor there
In nothing-yet in everything
He is what we are-a gentleman
A statesman spinning his web of crimes,
A swindler, living as he can

The ticking hour of Father Time released the memories locked in mind
The clock's monotonous tick obscured to most this man's so lonely cry
He'd said that with his clenched teeth, he'd seize the earth from underneath
He'd seize the earth from underneath, and drag it with him down to hell

One of my favourite electronic artists, who releases a new album every couple of days, or so it seems. While most of his songs have a beat it, this one doesn't and just consists of a melody that will haunt me forever.

Probably my all time personal favourite song, just because. I love the whole album it is from, especially side a of the original vinyl, but this song I just love to pieces. Imagine a song for a robotic dance set in the 1930's.

Therion - Chain of Minerva

On the cross, on the hanged man's flesh
You can read the runes of this prophecy
Movements in the sky predict the year
The mind of mine flies high
I stand on the mountain
I decipher the runes
I see, I hear the link of minerva
The sound of astral bells
2012

One of my favorite songs off Gothic Kabbalah, not sure what the lyrics mean something about the whole end of the world in the year 2012 and the Mayan calender I think...

Erik Truffaz - Les Nuits De Monsieur Naj

'k guys, this is a rather weird request, but I need some help. I'm trying to find a jazz CD prominently featuring a french horn, because french horns are just badass. Now I was told to get this CD, but it turns out it's just a French guy playing the horn (trumpet). Anyone know any good French hornists perchance?  :?

Truffaz! I love that guy.

Sadly, he is one of the only french Jazz musicians that are rather well known. I'm sure there are a lot of great french Jazz players but they'll be hard to find. There is one I've seen a video of who plays a fusion/avant grade thing. Kind of like a modern Bitches Brew only in quintet form. It was pretty good but I forgot his name.

Just try to watch  a lot of Mezzo.

Neutral Milk Hotel - Ghost

This is probably my favourite song off one of my favouritest records. I love every single part, the lyrics, the bass that goes so fuzzy you can't listen to it, the bawling vocals and that bit near the end where it just goes "Dee deedeedee Deedeedee Deedeededeede AHHHHHH" and a trumpet comes in and then he does it again and there is a singing saw going "woooooOOOOooooOOOOooooOO" and i all gets louder and the drums and crashing and  oh my god it is all so perfect.

I've always like Fenriz lyrics, there suitably weird and disturbing and fit the music perfectly.

currently listening to flight of the behemoth...it's funny on two counts...i was watching the fist two tracks as they changed over and i think the only difference i could note was a slight change in tempo

also i was reading a review of this recently...so when and dug it up of course...and noticed in the review the words this is very experimental for sunn o))) as they start using drums and vocals on the last track

MIA - Arular

In anticipation of her upcoming album. I quite like this, and I'm definately a fan of the two or so tracks I've heard off the new one.

And from the thread about her last album:
I'm definately not her biggest fan. Not sure, I think it's just that I can't stand noise.

I don't think I've laughed that hard at something I've written ever before.
