Looks just like the sun - Broken Social Scene

Quote (75% through the song)
"Kevin after this"

^ I don't know why I love that part of the song so much.

16 Volt - Full Black Habit

It's good, I guess.  Just kinda meh....very old school coldwave, which isn't very surprising.  Good, but nothing to blow you away.

Man, I thought All Pigs Must Die was pretty weak. I'm not as vitriolically opposed to it as some reviews I've read, but I definitely wouldn't have it up there with my favourite Di6 tunes (Rose Clouds of Holocaust, Little Black Angel, He's Disabled, Of Runes & Men, C'est Un Reve, She Said Destroy, Christine The Lizard, Symbols of the Sun, Heaven Street). The music lacks a certain bite, and the lyrics a certain depth, to my mind.

For probably the same reason as Kai, I am also listening to Death in June atm.

Have you heard Starless & Bible Black Sabbath? is it a representative album of their work? because I thought it was rather weak. Well with the exception of Woman From A Hell. The title track was as boring a psych-freakout as I have ever heard. Probably not the best album to start with I suppose.

Reverend Glasseye And His Wooden Legs - "Black River Falls"

Weird, but brilliant folky, gothic, caberet alt-country with trumpets.

I don't know, something about the trumpet and the lyrics just gets me.

It is? Well, still my favorite song. Almost everything on Rose Clouds Of Holocaust (The Accidental Protégé, 13 Years Of Carrion, Symbols Of The Sun)ת Crush My Soul and Fall Apart comes really close, though. There are probably a few more but those were the first names that poped up.

Umphrey's McGee.  It's really good prog-rock/jazzy type stuff.  It's also very happy, which is good, because my best friend's girlfriend just had a miscarriage this morning.  Which is sad.  So I've only been listening to happy music today.

I just realized that some of the parts of the song is in swedish (the only song by blindside in swedish except Nära).
That plus that both the lyrics and music is beautiful... a instant favorite!

this was their debut album in 2004 (their second is entitled "Sunny") and you can hear in its entirety on their site: *CLICKY*

but it's totally worth either getting the CD or buying via iTunes or oikz.com.

Soulwax - E Talking

Occasionally there'll be a horrendously catchy song that'll get stuck in my head. This is one of those songs.

It doesn't help that I can sing along to it as "It's not you it's the cheese talking..."

The music video for this is the ABC's of drugs.  Although they do use a few items twice, I got a laugh out of it.  My friend wants to be the LMNOP guy.

Harm of Will - Bjork

From Vespertine.

I don't know if I'm just in the wrong mood, or something, but the beginning of this song was almost annoying to me. Probably just me. At any rate, it gets more involved in the middle and sort of peaks, then levels off quite nicely.

I feel so sad because *most* of these bands, I have never even heard of.

=[

I am currently listening to HelloGoodbye - Touchdown Turnaround.

I know what your thinking, don't think that.

Generally, I think this band is gonna have some bad press, just because "trendwh0res" are gonna catch onto their vast popularity bandwagon type thing. Mostly emo/scene kids.

But at the same time, in my school, they are hugely popular.

But the album is too cute and makes me happy. =]]

Mi-Sex - Computer Games

Fun fact: I love this song far, far more than any person should. It's just so... geeky. I remember hearing it on RAGE late one night when my grubby little self should have been tucked away in bed at the age of 8 or 9 or something. From that night on, I always thought it was an awesome song. Don't ask me why, I just did (and do)...
