"The One Who Got Us Out" - Ted Leo

So McDonald's is having this singing competition for it's employees and I'm considering singing either Ted Leo, Sigur Ros, or Third Eye Blind. I'm thinking the latter just for lulz.

<3s AC Newman. Wish he would get another solo album, though. I found this record at some shop in Williamsburgh and picked it up for 8 bucks. Seriously awesome find.

Toshack Highway - She's Got Celestial Navigation

Just got their split double CD with SIANspheric and the Toshack half of it is awesome, much more upbeat and acoustic than I expected. Got a kind of Calexico vibe to it. Very cool.

That's What You Get- Paramore

Sing-songy, childish, overly simple, but catchy as all hell because of it.  That's what you get when you let your heart win! Whoa-oh-oa!

What would be a good skullflower album to start off with? I got Tribulation but I just found it a bit too extreme for me..

AC/DC's Let There Be Rock.  It's an excellent album for those who are in to Classic Rock, and this is the best example of the band in it's prime.  Bon Scott's vocals are chilling, and Angus' riffs are wicked.

The really beautiful, ultra dense ambiance of 'Time Travel of the Sloths parts 1, 2, and 3' by Eluvium off the new Eluvium/Juse 12" split. 20 minutes of Eluvium on vinyl for the first time ever is a very, very good thing.

I'll be honest, I found that track quite boring. Probably nice late at night, but yeah.. I found it pretty boring. Not as good as his Talk Amongst The Trees album. I'll give it another listen later, though.

I am listening to the first Jesu track of the split, "Farewell." It owns so much,

I'm listening to a compilation I got with this month's Mixmag, Rock the Rave mixed by Digitalism. It's pretty good to be honest. To my mind Mixmag always do great front CDs, and keep them quite varied. This is certainly the best one since the Claude Von Stroke one a few months back. It's quite funky and heavy but still oh so danceable. My favourite track so far? Walk Through by Trash Talk

I'm listening to Joanna Newsom for the first time. It's good, would be a lot better if she sung a lot less though. She does not have a good singing voice!

Liar!! Although we've already discussed this too much in the past so I won't argue, just say you're incorrect. But she's a killer harp player. I'm listening to the very cool, rather excellent Stars remix album for the first time. I think I like it more than the original album which is saying a lot for me b/c generally I hate remixes.

Envy - Insomniac Doze

ironically recommended to me by my best friend who suffers from insomnia, this album by Japanese hardcore (artcore?) dudes is leaving me too stunned to wipe the epicness off my face.
like a heavier mogwai, screaming and singing in japanese. great.

The Mars Volta - Son et Lumiere

Everything they've done since this CD bores me shitless and even put me off listening to this one for years, but I got high and listened to this with two really avid French MV fans the other week and remembered what an awesome disc it is.

This album does own pretty hard.

I've decided to make myself less of a philistine, so right now I'm listening to the first part of Beethoven's first symphony.

The Sigur Ros album Takk. The thread somewhere around this one made me put this on. I have always contended, and still do, that Sigur Ros makes some of the most, if not the most, beautiful music in the world. If they don't move you, it's likely you don't have a soul.

Daft Punk's Discovery Album.
Right now, specifically "Too Long".

After hearing a live show of theirs I can't get enough of Daft Punk.  This Discovery album is simply magic.
It's strange, before I started listening to them I never thought that I would listen to any sort of "Dance" music aside from the Star Wars theme Disco remix.
But here I am, at three thirty in the morning, listening to Daft Punk.
