Glassjaw - Daryll had a relapse of his krone's
Lost Prophets - Guitarist had a tooth abssess?
Mars Volta - Can't even remember why...

System of a Down and Idlewild both turned up pissed of their faces and were pretty crap in comparison to what I hoped for... If that counts.

That sucks that you missed The Fall of Troy. They put on a good show. I've missed them twice recently, so I feel the pain

i missed necromantix once cause kim necroman had pnuemonia. but i wasnt too bummed since i had seen them twice before.

i was driving to warped tour once (it was already a few hours into it) and anti-flag passed us going at least twice the speed limit (in some little ass car) and a minute or two later a cop car sped by with its lights and stuff going. anti-flag got a speeding ticket and were a little late but they did make it. this was years ago at the gorge in washington (the middle of the freaking desert, for those who dont know)

Also I would like to point out that the combination of Sailor Moon and faux-Kerouac / Sonic Youth spelling is perhaps the purest distillation of what this forum is that we have yet been presented with.

Mars Volta? May i make a suggestion? Depending on how long ago, they were probably drunk off their asses.

Architecture in Helsinki.

Their van broke down in Chicago. That's one that I'll always be bitter about.

Any of the non-Britain based people heard of Pete Dougherty? Formerly of the Libterines, currently of Babyshambles? I've been denied seeing him live 3 times now, twice just went AWOL, once had been arrested (for the billionth time).

I read that as "Death in June".

Regarding Pete Doherty: I don't get why Britain fawns all over him. He was the lame member of one of the most overrated bands in recent history and Babyshambles is just shameful. He's also at least thrice the tit Liam Galagher was.

Just, FYI, some of us have hated the cunt since the Libertines formed. The Libs had a handful of good songs, and one great one, but Babyshambles are terrible, and Doherty always was and always will be a dickhead.

It pisses me off slightly more that he got straight A*s at GCSE and straight As at A level, so he could have done any job in the world, and yet he's still dumb enough to get hooked on Class As.

True. I know of several kids in the same position who unbelievably still want to emulate him.  That's the saddest part.  I guess we in the UK now know that booking a ticket for a Babyshambles gig is pretty much asking for it to be cancelled, n'est-ce pas?

I drove with a couple of friends over to Easthampton to see Cars Can Be Blue, but they never showed up.  The Worst Fucking Band in the World, (named Refuge) sure did, though.  I'm pretty sure that we were the only ones there that weren't in any of the bands or were friends of people in the bands, so when we left during their set the M.C. for the night (?!) said, "don't leave now!  We've got more great music left!" or something to that effect.  It was awkward.  More than an hour driving, too.  So boo to that.

Flywheel, right? I saw them play there a while back, I think.

Also: At the Flywheel, it is almost a requirement to be in a band or know people in a band playing. Whenever I go, I feel all left out.

When I played in a band in high school, we would always book shows with a band that would rarely show up on time, if at all.  They always came up with some decent excuses, but eventually we just gave up on them.

I've never been to a concert when the band didn't show up, but when I saw the White Stripes, I wished they hadn't shown up, it felt like the longest concert of my life. And the one with the least amount of good songs.

On the Doherty thing - I like his music, well, some of it anyway. The first Libs album was pretty boring, but the second one was much more fun to listen to, with only one or two songs that I didn't like. Babyshambles, on the other hand, are incredibly patchy, there's one, the first couple of songs on Down in Albion that are downright awesome. The rest are bloody awful. Oh, and I'm British, and tired of seeing him drumming up publicity by getting caught doing drugs all the time. I'd say a minimum of half the people who buy his record do so because of hearing about him in the tabloids.
Carl Barat, on the other hand, is much better. He's pretty much just a more consistent version of Doherty.

Well, The Mountain Goats could've copped out on their Los Angeles show last night because John Darnielle was sick and couldn't exactly sing, but they got on stage and did their best to make it worthwhile for the audience.  It was really admirable.

John Darnielle is one of the nicest dudes I've ever seen on stage. I'm pretty sure he could just get up there and tell stories and still keep an audience happy.
