Ok so let me guess, his life is complicated and falling apart. He cant even get the TV going, so he goes to some radioshack esq place to get a universal remote that is a metafor for how complicated life is and how we are all searching for a universal solution to its complications. He's given the remote by some kooky guy working in said Radioshack esq store. Adam Sandler's char then abuses this power he's given and towards the middle of the movie things seem like they are going all good then everything falls apart almost all at once and is worse than ever before. He learns his lesson and tries to give back the remote, BUT NO! Kooky Radioshack guy doesn't want it back, he knows its a curse, you shouldn't be playing god, life is all about the complications and take those away it falls apart. So eventually Adam Sandler learns his lesson, he cant be god. So he gets rid of the remote then sets to systematically fixing his life and eventually gets his job back that he may have lost, or at least a promotion. He gets back with his girlfriend, or because of the point is Adam Sandler's career, wife. And unalienates his kids, if he has any and generally becomes a better person. Kooky radioshack guy either then accepts the remote back, or he or even Adam Sandler are seen giving the remote to someone else. Or wait, an open ending, an Adam Sandler esq char, finds the remote while going through the same sort of crisis Adam Sandler was going through then cut to credits.
Am I right?
