I like to think of it as one 30 minute track, because the riff barely changes throughout the entire fucking album.

i like to think of it as one 30 minute track because it flows brilliantly and once you start it there's no reason not to finish it.

Until you want to listen to a better thrash album.

Before the question is asked, the first two Sabbat albums, any Kreator or Testament album, a good spattering of Exodus, and, indeed, a couple of other Slayer albums. Minimum.

i've listened to those things (save the sabbat) and none of them come close to reign in blood.

Fuck On The Beach should never be ignored, they're just too much damned fun. Fuck on beach! Be a man!

Incidentally, I've always reckoned Man Is The Bastard to be one of the best band names of all time. Sort of says it all really.

Man Is The Bastard, basically. They made it up as a joke genre name and then other people started using it, which they thought really dumb but was so obviously going to happen (pretty much the exact same thing happened when In/Humanity thought it would be funny to invent emoviolence). Think fast, sloppy, heavy hardcore. Vocalists who sound like the cookie monster may be involved, there'll almost certainly be lots of silly humour and of course as with all good things of this ilk the Japanese took to it like ducks to water.

khar, perhaps you wouldn't be so offended if you bothered to learn something about music ouside of some specific microcosm. you're certainly not entitled you to spreading your misguided opinions on anything other than bad metal acts.

oh it undoubtedly has more to do with this:

Municipal Waste.

That band already exist, and they're called The Lower Class Brats.

Also, power electronics > power violence. Then again I never quite got the distinction between power violence and punky grindcore, if indeed there is one. Seriously though, more people need to listen to stuff like Navicon Torture Technologies, Whitehouse, Sutcliffe Jügend, Deathpile and Folkstorm.

@Jcknbl: ?

and
Quote from: KharBevNor
I know there's no connection, I just thought it would be nice if there was one post about noise on this forum that wasn't just about Merzbow. Also, 'punky grindcore' isn't a genre so much as a description. You know how some grind is more punky, some grind more death metaly, some grind more jazzy, etc.

if there's a genre you're unfamiliar with, you shouldn't feel obligated to contibute to a "recommendations" thread. you'll just confuse the person looking for recommndations.

You're saying Municipal Waste aren't a thrash band?

i'm saying that munical waste have nothing to do with powerviolence.
argue that the thread asked for thrash/powerviolence recommendations, and you'll also be mistaken, because by including the "powerviolence" part of the request, the request looked more towards dropdead and maybe even seige than munical waste.

A fair enough contention, I see your POV.

You're still a turd of a person though, and that's my final comment here.

I'm comming into this a bit late, must have missed the topic, but I never really got into Sabbat. "History of Time to Come" is good, but something about it has always put me off. Can't really put my finger on what it is though.

The pinacle of Thrash for me is "Darkness Descends" by Dark Angel.
