can russian circles really be classified as metal?

Hey everyone.  I work for Russian Circles' label, Flameshovel, and I can definitely say they don't really classify themselves as metal, though they do get tied in with bands like Pelican a fair bit, who are definitively an instrumental metal band.  I'd say they're on the heavy end of the prog spectrum, with a little bit more driving weight than a lot of post-rock bands.  Plus, they're a three piece with a really thick sound, which I think is worth distinguishing from bands like Godspeed!, for instance, who have many more members to achieve the sort of thick sound they create.  I'm definitely glad Jeph gave them a shout-out, and I hope you all pick up the record and check them out when they come through your town.  They put on a killer live show.
