I've seen a preview, and the line "they're not gay; they're hobbits" made what was in my mouth come out my nose.

I WAS EATING STEAK

I must say I am hell of excited for this. The original was and is my favorite movie of all time, so for the new one to come out soon makes my heart leap with joy. It could suck eggs, and I wouldn't care because it's Dante and Randal.

I'm probably not going to see Clerks II.   It can only be a pale imitation of the original.

I really loved the original Clerks, but Kevin Smith's track record does not make me convinced at all. It's like, what, 1-6? Not good.

but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

Holy shit, I can't decide whether it is in fact the worst movie ever, or whether that review was just a really brilliant satire of the worst case scenario.

And come on, 1-6? No love for Chasing Amy or Dogma or Mallrats? Come on.

That Something Awful review was bullshit. The reviewer came off as a fucking bastard.

Also, he said something about it being as funny as the terrible Jay and SIlent Bob Strike Back...

Thing is, I think Jay and Bob Strike Back is fucking halarious!

Guys, guys. Guys. That review is made up. It's supposed to be a joke. It's not real. It's facetious. This fact has been pointed out several times in this thread.

PAY ATTENTION.

Yeah what Gryff said ^. Also I can't wait to see this movie. I love the majority of Kevin Smiths work... but come'on Jersey girl? Really? ... eh I could take it or leave it. But if you haven't seen An Evening with Kevin Smith go, run don't walk, and get that and watch it. You'd never think one fat guy on stage could be that entertaining.

I feel about the same about Clerks II as I do the new season of Futurama. Cautious exitement. I just hope Kevin Smith doesn't screw this one up. The great thing about Clerks was that there was no expectation for the movie, so he did just whatever he wanted.

I can't wait to see it.

Does anyone know if there was a director's commentary for Jersey Girl? Because his commentaries are abou the best thing he does other than make movies and the comics thing.

From what I hear, Jay's gonna do the Buffalo Bill dance, and there's going to be a donkey show. And then Rosario Dawson is going to stand there and look pretty.

Hopefully not at the same time, because my fragile little mind couldn't take such wonderful/awful/hilarious/gorgeous things at the same time.

So far, what has won me over the most has been the end of most of the trailers..with Randal wrangling across the counter while other seemingly joyous chaos ensues.

Hell, it would be justifiable to go see it again if you'd paid double the first time 'round.

Clerks II was most definately one of the funniest movies that had a legitamate plot. Though, Brian O'Halloran kinda lamed his way through. *Shrug*

Also, I'll be damned if Rosario Dawson isn't one of the most adorable women on the face of the earth. Seriously. I mean maybe one of those Martians that Jay was talking about would be hotter, but I don't know. She is damn gorgeous.

I totally recommend it. If not for the laughs, if not for Rosario, if not for Jay doing the Buffalo Bill thing... do it for Pillowpants.

I loved this movie. I loved it even though the people I went and saw it with are dicks and couldn't get ready in time so we ended up showing right as the trailers started meaning that I had to sit in the second row next to the wall so everything was scewed waaaay out of perspective... it was still some of the best slapstick/character driven work I've ever seen!

Second'd on Rosario Dawson.  For anyone wanting to see MORE of Rosario Dawson, watch Alexander! THere's also "Kids".... but.... uhm.... yeah.  Make sure you're at least older than the actors.  And.... man that movie puts you in a weird place.

*SPOILERS POSSIBLY, BEWARE!*

*************************

AS DOES CLERKS.  Seriously, I laughed loud and laughed hard.  Jay's numerous "WTF" moments.  The Donkey. Fanboy "wtf" with the guy from "Alias."  Pillowpants and lister-something.  Initially, I thought it wasn't as quotable, but... I think I may have been wrong!  And Randal.... oh man.  Props to Jeff Anderson for doing what he does.  For real.

It's great to see Jayson Mewes in a movie in such good health, now going on three years of being absolutely straight. I like how they refrenced it in the film.

Clerks was one of my favortie movies of all time and given Kevin's lackluster track record for the current decade...well needless to say I was rather skeptikal but I figured hey it can't be as bad Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and saw it the day it came out.

Amazing.

Amazing in every possible way.

Kevin has offically out done himself this time.

Seriously, his best movie and the best of movie of the year.
