It's just shallow vapid shit for 13 year old girls. It could have been recorded on a twenty quid karaoke machine in his mums basement and distributed on a cassette-only label run by a commune of anarcho-syndicalist lesbian freedom fighters who only advertise through culture-jamming graffiti and personal endorsements from Sub-Comandante Marcos and it would still be shallow vapid shit for 13 year old girls.

Seriously, how can you even stand his voice? It's bearly barable in the new single with all that distortion on it. Also, where are the 'wicked beats' or whatever? I, you, or anyone could do the drums and bassline to that in Fruityloops in about half an hour, counting render time. It's commercial shite. Even dancing to it at a shite club validates its shite existence.

If you had an interest in real dance music...You'd know Foggy, Outfly, Ferry Corsten, 4 Strings, Armin Can Buuren, Iio, DJ Micro, Motorcycle, Kate Ryan, Lazard, Lost Tribe, Metric, Kira, KMC, Pepe, Divine Inspiration.
Mainstream or obscure, easy-to-find or rare and expensive, mutt or pure-bred, dog poop is still dog poop.

It often gets very tiring reading comments by people so hung up on pretentions that they feel that their opinions are somehow more validated than other people's. Nothing constructive is offered; s/he simply tears it down.
If it's not your thing, that's fine. But there's no reason to flatly insult it. While some people find it vapid and simple (without stating their reasons), other people just think it's fun. Music doesn't have to be groundbreaking, it doesn't have to have hidden depths of meaning, it doesn't have to be decoded or deciphered. Sometimes it can just be fun.
[As an aside, just because you think the record is simple doesn't mean much. I could record a noise rock record or a metal album in one afternoon just as easily as I could make some beats in Fruityloops, and I'll be willing to bet that you guys would eat up my noise or metal while still shunning truly good pop music.]
