Erm...apologies if this has already been posted but...

Jarvis Cocker has a new song on his myspace

http://www.myspace.com/jarvspace

It's pretty good. I'm quite excited about this new album he's recording.

Well, he did release a solo album under another name I think, so maybe not that long.

Ah yes, I really like that song.

Reminds me that we're pushing pebbles instead of shifting boulders.

Jarvis Cocker is a lyrical genius simply for his Pulp stuff. It's just the icing on the cake that his solo stuff is just as good.

Did anyone hear that song he recorded for the last Harry Potter film? It was with 2 other big names, I can't remember who.

It was with Jonny Greenwood and Phil Selway from Radiohead on guitar and drums, and I think that Steve Mackey from Pulp played bass. They did three songs, Do The Hippogryff, This Is The Night and Magic Works.

I saw Rufus Wainwright kiss him on the mouth at a Leonard Cohen tribute show.

Jarvis Cocker = The only good thing to come out of Britpop.

Although I still maintain that the Weird Sisters were supposed to sound like The Sisters of Mercy.

I named the daddy-longlegs spider in my locker at high school Jarvis, in honour of Mr. Cocker.  This was about the time he jumped on stage to stop the Michael Jackson performance.
