oh man, this is the funniest thing i've read all week.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH NOISE MUSIC?
Plainly put: Noise music is offensive and damaging to our children. Don't let your child by negatively effected by music that is design to cause them harm.

NOISE MUSIC EMBRACES:

   2. Violence
   3. Nihilism (belief in nothing)
   4. Escapism
   5. Drugs / Alcoholism
   6. Sexual Perversion, Self-Mutilation
   7. Dissonant / Offensive Sound
   8. The Occult
   9. Anti-God / Anti-Authority
  10. Cult-like Organization, Terrorism

If you thought that Rap, Punk, Heavy Metal or any other past degenerate trends were a threat...PLEASE WAKE UP!! Inform yourself ! DO SOMETHING! Help protest this destructive trend before it is too late.

Be sure to check out their watch list for dangerous noise artists like John Cage, Lightning Bolt ("while this band primarily plays classic progressive rock (Like Rush) it does incorporate noise elements in its music"), and... Radiohead???

RADIOHEAD: a lot of people keep asking why i included them into this list, but they are what i consider a 'gateway band', my son was started out by listening to Radiohead.

Actually, I thik I agree with them, Cage's 4'33" is one of the most violent pieces of music ever. Children should not be allowed to hear it.

Later, 13 more were discovered).

Merzbow is the most well know of the 'Japanese noise' bands. Japanese noise uses a mix of technology, sex, nihilism, occult themes and violence to further the aims of this .

the whois doesn't show anything suspicious, but they do use a hotmail address.

if it's not, i still think it's pretty awesome, and might buy some of their buttons. well i would, if they weren't so crap.

sigh. i guess it makes sense that something this good has to end up being fake. if i was a mother, i'd totally start a real one and picket shows 'n start fights with noise musicians who take themselves too seriously 'n shit.

Most of what I've heard says that "Mothers against noise" was originally a serious consideration, but only to three people who turned up at one Wolf Eyes show. After this the whole thing was hijacked by a couple of noiseniks who created a "Is it a viral marketing scheme?" shitstorm. I think the mothersagainstnoise.us site almost looks like the real thing until you get to the blog. Apparently they have some kind of legit organizational registration even. The question I really want to ask though is:
Why on earth aern't they listing the international noise conspiracy?

Mothers Against Noise

Some things are just meant to be mocked...

...one of them being the American tendency for so-called "Mothers Against Whatever" crusades, usually against a type of music or recent trend.

After weeks of buzz the lengthy online discussions about the veracity of the "Mothers Against Noise" organization, comes the dropping of one of the bombs and the conclusion of an idea hatched when the "MAN" concept began spreading on the net after being planted in a few selected places. An idea that consisted quite simply of spreading and riding an online viral wave of hype.

As such, we annouce the release of the first instalment (and hopefully not last) of a series of FREE downloadable noise/industrial/idm/breakcore music compilations tentatively titled "Mothers Against Noise".

We hope you enjoy the "Mothers Against Noise" compilation series and that its contents will make you interested enough to discover more about these genres of music.

A: When we first started our site, it was on geocities. We were contacted by supposedly 'concerned mothers' who offered to host our site for free, and registered our domain names without our permission. We took them up in good faith. Little did we know that they were in fact noise fans pretending to be mothers, they changed some of our writings from our website then spread it around the internet as a joke. After a week they turned it into a website promoting Techno and Rap music. And if that wasn't bad enough they now are trying to discredit our movement by making absurd claims about who we are. We have NO connection with these people and would never use this platform for anything except a public service. We are sorry for any confusion this causes and shows a how low these people will behave. May this be a lesson for us all

Earlier this year, when the band toured with Sonic Youth for three weeks, they met up with proof that they were doing something right in the form of M.A.N. — Mothers Against Noise — a group of middle-aged mothers picketing outside a California venue.

If that sounds like a throwback group, you’re not far off, to hear Olson tell the story:

“We pulled up to the venue in San Diego and there’s all these women outside with M.A.N signs. And (Sonic Youth’s) Thurston (Moore) was like, ‘That’s not for us, dude. That’s for you.’”

So Olson, of course, went over to talk to them.

“They were just tired of their kids going deaf from listening to really, really loud music,” Olson says. “It was that simple.

“So we talked, and they asked what it was that we did, and in the end, I said, ‘It’s just like Chuck Berry.’” He pauses, smiles, and says, “And really, it is.”

I like to consider myself a fairly well informed individual, but this is the first that I've heard of a musical style referred to as "Noise." I guess that I'll have to come up with another term now to refer to Rap "music."

To some critics of my work, they call it "alarmist", "negative", "ignorant".

Well as I already said noise has had an adverse effect on both mine and my son's life, in fact my house almost burnt down because of it:(( Besides that episode there has also been blown speakers on my new stereo, my dog has taken to hiding when my son is home, and my daughter Ella cried all of last halloween because the sounds reminded her of those that emanate from my son's room.
