but the music sucks because the keyboards don't have the cold/mechanical sound they had but a wannabe techno sound that it's pathetic for Rammstein standars.

In a 50th floor board room:

Record Exec #1: “Guys, it seems our method of marketing is becoming more and more outdated the longer we wait to find another way to do it. I mean one of our only means of advertisement, television music stations, is soon going to be obsolete”.

Record Exec #2: “Yes and our entire means of distribution is based on a model created 50 or 60 years ago. I’m afraid that if we keep attacking our average Joe consumers only for following world wide marketing trends we’ll quickly be out of business”.

Record Exec #3: “I think a big problem is that a lot of artists nowadays see how unstable and unfair our contracts are to them. Now they’re becoming more independent in their endeavors to more thoroughly enjoy the fruits of their artistic labors”.

A man crashes through the doors

Man: “GUYS HOLD EVERYTHING! Some guy on the internet says his CD cases are DIRTY!”

Silence

Record Exec #1: whispers “Oh my god”.

actually, the last CD I think I bought was The Residents' Animal Lover, and that was partially because it had such a cool case. It came with a story book and everything.

Also, it's just an awesome album.

Since I joined eMusic, the only CDs I've bought have been

• ones I really want but can't get on eMusic but can find for under $10 USD elsewhere
• anything by the Fiery Furnaces because I lub them and want to own hard copies of their stuff so I can get them to sign it

I was listening to some nice mellow drone, but now I'm going to have to switch to harsh noise to clear my head out after hearing mention of that squirrel.

I have a CD collection of about 200 CDs that has taken just under a full year to amass. Actually, all but a few of them I bought this year.

Man, I'd forgotten how much people hated Foamy. I need to sample him for some Death Throes shit. I already have Crazy Frog samples.

What's wrong with vinyl? If he truly is an 'audiophile', he would know vinyl is mighty pleasing to the ears...

Sticky cd case...yes, it's amazing what five seconds with windex will do.

Copywrite protection has never been a huge issue for me just because in general the albums I buy are from labels so small they can't afford to include protection on their albums...

I will give annoying guy credit for pointing out how digipacks suck (no booklet, feeling cheap, etc) however.

does it make me a bad person if i like digipacks?

i buy cds on occasion. if i could afford to support my music habit i'd buy copies of everything i have on my hard drive – even though i'd never listen to it in disc form, it'd be nice to have them around for reference. and cover art.

Me and my friends worship Foamy as our Lord and Master.

Mostly as a joke other than actual fandom, though.

Although I do like him.

I mean sometime Foamy is quite funny but why the god damn annoying voice?

Anyways a lot of the stuff is true. Packaging makers do keep messing with it. It is annoying nearly as annoying as a high pitched squirell shouting about it.

The high pitched voice doesn't really bother me. Not even with Pillz-E.

I've got way too many CDs in my room
I buy them when they're really cheap, since $2 is less then the time it'd take me to track down and download a whole Bjork album or rare compilation (i love thrift stores). Buy, rip, put on iPod, put in storage
Plus there are all the promo and review CDs I get, which are starting to pile up quickly... and i like the physical artifact
