Wayfaring Stranger:
My girlfriend got me listening to Iron and Wine, something which I am eternally grateful for.  
Another good friend recommended Sufjan Stevens.

My friend recommended to me Infected Mushroom. tis brilliant stuff i say.

Rizzo:
A friend of mine got me in to AFI, Nine Inch Nails and NUTE. They're three of my favourite bands now so I'm pretty happy bout it.

valley_parade:
Weezer about five years ago.

Another friend turned me onto the Mad Caddies, but I haven't listened to them in a while.
