Skittish:

1) TV On the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain
2) Destroyer - Rubies
3) Wilderness - Vessel States
4) Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
5) The Black Keys - Magic Potion
6) The Handsome Family - Last Days of Wonder
7) Thom Yorke - The Eraser
8) Jason Molina - Let Me Go, Let Me Go, Let Me Go
9) Grizzly Bear - Yellow House
10) Shearwater - Palo Santo
Honorable mentions:
The Fiery Furnaces - Bitter Tea
Magnolia Electric Co. - Fading Trails
Ray LaMontagne - Til the Sun Turns Black
Thrillho:
I don't care if it has been done, I'm a sucker for this shit, although I'm unsure about doing it with Dylan's new album out on Monday.
In order:
1. Twilight Singers - Powder Burns
2. Anathallo - Floating World
3. Billy Talent - II
4. The Divine Comedy - Victory For The Comic Muse
5. Hundred Reasons - Kill Your Own
6. Rod Stern - Give It Up For Rod Stern!
7. Boy Kill Boy - Civilian
8. Matisyahu - Youth
9. David Gilmour - On An Island
10. Cayto - !Blunderbuss!
Please note the lack of Arctic Monkeys.
Mikendher:
These are my top 5 so far, in no particular order:
Beirut - Gulag Orkestar
Band of Horses - Everything All The Time
Sufjan Stevens - The Avalanche
Oh No! Oh My! - Oh No! Oh My!
Arizona - Welcome Back Dear Children
KharBevNor:
1: Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain
2: Current 93 - Black Ships Ate the Sky
3: Placebo - Meds
4: Korpiklaani - Tales Along This Road
5: Darkthrone - The Cult is Alive
And that's all the albums I can remember coming out this year I've heard. Dylan will doubtless give me six.
jcknbl:
1. Man Man- Six Demon Bag (No, Seriously)
2. Danielson- Ships
3. be your own PET- S/t (I predict this opinion will be derided by British forum goers but ignored by American ones.)
4. Liars- Drums Not Dead
5. Herbert- Scale
I have not yet heard Art Brut and TV on the Radio and both of those will likely be better than half those albums. Also, Dylan obvi.
Oneida's "Happy New Year" gets the honerable mention because one of these days they're going to put out the album of the decade. This just isn't it yet.
Am I the only person who can't come to terms with Scott Walker's "The Drift" yet? I have a very aggressive love-hate relationship with that album.
DynamiteKid:
I like the lack of Arctic Monkeys. What I can't understand is the inclusion of Matisyahu.
