ps2 repairness

Ryld:
does anybody know how to repair a ps2? i checked a bunch of different sites and it didn't works ;>.>

my problem is that my spindle doesn't seem to have enough power to spin the disk.... like, it spins where there is no disc, but when i put a disc in it spins like 1/50th of a spin,
any ideas on what to do that doesn't involve spending money? :D

IronOxide:
Wrong forum.

I'd say that you either have to spend cash on repairs, or spend even more on an electrical engineering degree. That's pretty nonstandare brokenness.

Hairy Joe Bob:
PS2s are renowned for their dodginess. they always stop working after a period of time which (suspiciously) matches the length of your warranty.

Ryld:
well.... accually the warranty on it ran out  years ago ;>.> so it's been pretty good to me ^_^

I Am Not Amused:
I've had to crack my PS2 open a couple times when it hasn't worked, but I've never encountered the problem you're talking about. I had a problem where it would make a clicking noise when it would spin and no game would run. I opened it up and found - I shit you not - earwax and a piece of toenail inside the machine's gears. Got that shit cleaned up and BAM good as new.

I guess my advice is to crack it open, check everything out and see if anything unusual appears in the machine.
