so yeah i looked for a thread on this topic but i couldn't find one.....so if there is my bad.....but yeah...
i just wanted to see if anyone else was as obsessed with House on Fox as i am.....i think it's one of the best shows i've ever watched...even my orthapeadic surgeon said that it's one of the few medical shows out there that is realistic if not the most realistic...the characters are awesome...gregory house is hilarious....he is so cynical and arrogant sometimes but you cant help but love him for it....i find myself watching the shows over and over again on USA just for the trite comments house makes....but yeah...anyone else like house and does anybody have a favorite house quote??
one of my favorites is
--- Quote ---
Hello, sick people and their loved ones! In the interest of saving time and avoiding a lot of boring chitchat later, I'm Doctor Gregory House; you can call me "Greg." I'm one of three doctors staffing this clinic this morning.
his ray of sunshine is Doctor Lisa Cuddy. Doctor Cuddy runs this whole hospital, so unfortunately she's much too busy to deal with you. I am a board... certified diagnostician with a double specialty of infectious disease and nephrology. I am also the only doctor currently employed at this hospital who is forced to be here against his will.
But not to worry, because for most of you, this job could be done by a monkey with a bottle of Motrin. Speaking of which, if you're particularly annoying, you may see me reach for this: this is Vicodin. It's mine! You can't have any! And no, I do not have a pain management problem, I have a pain problem... but who knows? Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm too stoned to tell. So, who wants me?

and
--- Quote ---
Orange-Colored Patient: What are those?
Dr. House: Painkillers.
Orange-Colored Patient: Oh, for you, for your leg.
Dr. House: No, because they're yummy.

I rather enjoy this show. I'm currently finishing up the 2nd season via DVD - I didn't really get into the show until this summer when reruns were on at exactly the time I had free.
I see a lot of myself in House. While I'm nowhere near as intelligent, good-looking or cynical as he, I see certain aspects of myself when I watch the show.
"That's why it's going to be so cool when I'm right."

I enjoy House somewhat.
But I can't watch it without thinking "THEY MADE A SHOW STARRING DR. COX." And I prefer Scrubs.
Inlander:
It's an enjoyable enough diversion for a few minutes. There are two things I like about it: Hugh Laurie/Dr. House, obviously, and also the fact that it's a mainstream American show that has an AUSTRALIAN actor playing an AUSTRALIAN character. Seriously, it gets so annoying seeing Australian actors having to adopt American accents over and over again.
However, as far as the actual show itself goes it seems to me to be highly formulaic: there's a patient with a mystery illness, which leads to a few misdiagnoses and red herrings, before the team save the day just in the nick of time. Every time I've seen the show it's seemed to follow the same pattern, which I find irritating. If it wasn't for Dr. House the show wouldn't be worth watching at all, and you can't build a top-quality show on just one great character.
IronOxide:
As much as I enjoy House, the plot is almost exactly the same every episode. If it weren't for the witty banter, it would be about as interesting as CSI. In other words, not.
