Gregory House defines Facetious
KB_Hurr_Hurr:
yes i will agree with you as far as the repitious plot.....however....the witty banter MAKES is worth watching....not to mention that it's educational....at least for me it is....coming from a family with many illnesses i know what they are talking about alot of the time and when i don't i look it up....

People rag on the show being formulaic, but really, I don't think House is any more so than any other television drama. The formula is just more obvious here. Sure, every episode has a patient with a mystery diagnosis, but there are several story arcs that are progressing through the shows. A big problem is that House overpowers the Drs. Forman, Cameron, and Chase characters, so there's not as much development for them.

HERE HERE!!!!!!
yes i quite agree...as for the other stories going on other than the obvious patient with an extremely elusive diagnosis...there is also the stories of Dr. Cameron...we learn more and more about her background and we see her go from a possible lover for house...to just an admirer of sorts...despite her appemts to hide it...
we see the relationships between House and Wilson...the love life between wilson and his wife fall to ruins...and the comraderie shared between house and wilson despite house's cynicism, and blatent disredard for subtlety...
and of course not to mention House's slipping addiction, his hearbreak that still hasn't healed over stacy, and his skepticism of all but himself....
and the witty comments aren't all that bad either!!! lol

Dr. House: Here's to women. Can't live with them, can't kill them and tell the neighbors they're stripping in Atlantic City.

This is my favorite show on TV right now...I basically consider myself a student of House's witty cynicism. And then there's this:
--- Quote ---Med student - You're reading a comic book?
House - And you're wearing a low cut blouse to draw attention to your bosom.
(student gets that "how dare you look" on her face)
Oh, sorry. I thought we were playing a game of 'state the obvious' - I'm very competitive...

Dr. Cuddy: What are you doing here?
Dr. House: Hooker. Came to my office rather than my apartment.

[Dr. Wilson is examining Dr. House's leg with the MRI]
Dr. Wilson: House, this is God.
Dr. House: Look, I'm a little busy right now. Not supposed to talk during these things. Got time Thursday?
Dr. Wilson: Let me check. Oh! I got a plague. What about Friday?
Dr. House: You'll have to check with Cameron.
Dr. Wilson: Oh! Damn it! She always wants to know why bad things happen. Like I'm gonna come up with a new answer this time.
[Cuddy bursts in]
Dr. Cuddy: House...
Dr. House: Quick God, smite the evil witch!
Dr. Cuddy: Are you sitting on evidence that your patient was sexually abused by her father?
Dr. House: God, why have you forsaken me?
