Gregory House defines Facetious
valley_parade:
--- Quote ---Wilson: You said when you were having sex, you'd put a stethoscope on the door.
House: I didn't say it had to be with someone else.
--- End quote ---
--- Quote ---House (sticking a thermometer up a patient's ass): I'll be right back.
House leaves the exam room.
House: I'm taking an early day today. Did you ever feel like you were forgetting something?
--- End quote ---
Maybe I just started noticing it, but when did Cameron start giving back the snark?
Ozymandias:
--- Quote from: Merkava on 26 Oct 2006, 07:09 ---Oh yeah, and besides sarcasm, House is completey different from Cox. Cox rants and speaks in monologues, while House is sharp, focused, and releases his wit in bursts. Thinking they are the same is another example of many people's tendency to oversimplify.
Honestly, if House is formulaic, every other show is as well. The whole point is that they diagnose diseases that are hard to diagnose. The red herrings are necessary. What makes it different, like most Law and Orders are different from each other, is the type of illness, the effect it has on the characters, and whatever shit Laurie does.
<3 House
--- End quote ---
The Law and Order comparisons are quite apt.
The only good reason to watch L&O was Lenny. The only good reason to watch House is House.
rynne:
Dr. House is not Dr. Cox. If anything, Gregory House = Sherlock Holmes. Aside from the obvious name similarities, they're both brilliant deductive thinkers who have no social skills, one real friend (Wilson and Watson, respectively), and a drug addiction (cocaine and Vicodin). Also, they both live in Apt. 221B.
Craig:
Don't forget their musical talents: Holmes on violin, House on piano.
Guardian 452:
I love House! The show and the man. Though the man one is strictly platonic.
