I think at my funeral I want "Reconstruction Site," the title track off of the Weakerthans' most recent album. That or "(Past-Due)".

Your funeral is going to be the social event of the season, Tommy. Biggest party ever.

Blood Axis - The Ride/The Gospel of Inhumanity
Blut Aus Nord - The Last Journey of Ringhorn/Procession of the Dead Clowns
Burzum - Tomhet/My Journey to the Stars
Coil - Tainted Love
Current 93 - Black Flowers Please/A Song For Douglas After He's Dead
Death in June - Lifebooks

Nortt - Dod Och Borte
Sigh - Requiem/Nostalgia
Skyclad - Great Blow for a Day Job*
Sol Invictus - December Song/Black Dawn/The Silver Swan
Xasthur - Bleak Necrotic Paleness

* this one is, in fact, obligatory, because it is where the quote I will have placed on my grave stone will come from: "I'll party on in Acheron"

This song never fails to cheer me up, it should do the same for those attending my funeral.

My dad is going to have 'Promised Land' by Chuck Berry played. He's a Christian, it's pretty appropriate.

Dead Can Dance's 'Host of the Seraphim' would be ridiculously appropriate at a funeral, I reckon...  Probably too much.

The entire album Our Endless Numbered Days by Iron & Wine. That'd get people crying good and hard. Also, that's JUST for the wake, I want a traditional funeral service at a Catholic church.

Or maybe "Each Coming Night" by Iron & Wine.

Quote
Will you say when I'm gone away
"My lover came to me and we'd lay
In rooms unfamiliar but until now"

Will you say to them when I'm gone away
"I loved your son for his sturdy arms
We both learned to cradle then live without"

Will you say when I'm gone away
"Your father's body was judgement day
We both dove and rose to the riverside"

Will you say to me when I'm gone
"Your face has faded but lingers on
Because light strikes a deal with each coming night"

Amplifire - "Perfect Goodbye"

or Eminem's "Still don't give a fuck", if only for the chorus
Quote
For all the weed that I've smoked - yo this blunt's for you
To all the people I've offended - yeah fuck you too!
To all the friends I used to have - yo I miss my past
But the rest of you assholes can KISS MY ASS
For all the drugs that I've done - yo I'm still gon' do
To all the people I've offended - yeah fuck you too!
For everytime I reminisce - yo I miss my past
But I still don't give a fuck, y'all can KISS MY ASS

(drugs part isn't really fitting, but I love the rest :))

Spacemen 3 - That's Just Fine or It's Gonna Be Alright or Hey Man

Skywave - Cool Breeze

Fugazi - I'm So Tired.  Actually, that's the one to leave on repeat when you kill yourself.

Goddamn you, Ironoxide! I was going to say that.

I would have Our Endless numbered days WITH a few other select Iron and Wine songs, such as Promising Light and Muddy Hymnal from The Creek Drank The Cradle.

To lighten the mood a little I might have "Funeral" by the Arcade Fire jammed.

Im going to say...(checks collection)... Cradle and All - Ani DiFranco.
It seems like the perfect song for the ending of a movie that didn't end the way everyone wanted it to.
Thats how I picture the end of my life.

'Ha Ha You're Dead' by Green Day.
'Dead to the World' by Nightwish.
'Dead Things' by Emiliana Torrini.

Also, Dragostea Din Tei by O-Zone while everyone does the dance (the whole 'dead' theme needs to go).

i've always wanted "Innocent When You Dream" by Tom Waits at my funeral.

also, anything by the Polyphonic Spree would cheer the crowd up.

(assuming you could actually find the gigantic choir of hippies.)

Impression that I get-The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
It fits so well. Or possibly
The Rebal Alliance Theme from Star Wars. You know the one they play at the end of A New Hope, during the medal sequence.
