Current Games

Snagged three new games last week: Battlefield 2142, Destroy All Humans! 2, and Scarface.

I haven't tried Scarface yet, but I'm diggin' on 2142 and DAH2.  2142, the maps are smaller, more unlocks, new people to rail...  Getting a lot of no-scope shots with my snipper, much to everybody's chagrin.  So many whiners!  ("Stop bunny hopping!")  DAH2 is also sweet.  A bit harder than the first one, more stuff to unlock, tweaked the interface, and better missions.  A worthy waste of time.

You'd recommend DAH2?  I never played one, should I start there?
I grabbed Condemned Criminals or something a while back.  Some weird serial-killer catching game using the Havok engine and stuff.  Might actually try it sometime.

The second one doesn't really have any sort of formal tutorial; you are just thrown in with random tips on how to do stuff as you go along.  First one was a bit more formal, but still pretty similar.  Honestly?  I'd say to try them both.  The first one takes place in a different era from the second, and is different because of it.

Pugs: Play Condemned late at night, lights off. Trust me.

I, like, just got Guitar Hero about a week ago, and I've been playing that a lot.  Graphics suck pretty hard.  I don't think Harmonix has done, like, a single thing to improve the graphics in their games since they released the original "Frequency", and they haven't changed the gameplay at all, so this pretty much plays the same as all their other games, just with one track instead of, like, five or eight.  Also, about half the songs on it are pretty much bragging rights for the company's staff, and the rest are almost all decently covered but still weird sounding vocally.

Not what I was hoping for, but better than it really had to be considering.

I played Guitar Hero in the store today and was sad when I had to part with it. then I grew angry that others were playing it and I was not

I got a game last Tuesday called Summon Nights: Swordcraft Story 2. it is a basic RPG but instead of of turn based fighting you enter this side scrolling mode and fight in real time

You know why there arent all that good many good computor games out at the moment?

WoW thats the probelm, not even counter-strike was this responisble for the decline in human hygeine in its hey day. This game is sigularily responsible for the decline in Human civilization as we see it. This is especially evident in the computor games industry.

Hmm, I've always thought the original Everquest had a larger impact in its day than WoW, especially considering it didn't really have any competition.

It's not the most current game any more, but I'm still waiting until I can upgrade my computer so I can play my copy of Oblivion.

I've sort of stopped buying games for the past couple of weeks in order to work through the massive backlog of games I've got.

Right now I'm playing a load of Oblivion, but that's not really a new game.

The other game I'm playing a lot of right now is Okami. If you have a PS2, you NEED to buy this game. It is amazing, but I am stuck in it and it is too recent for there to be guides for it online yet.

As for games in the near future, I will probably buy Gears of War as soon as or shortly after it comes out, and maybe Phantasy Star Universe if reviews are good. I'm going to force myself to not buy Guitar Hero II based on the mediocre song list until more details on the 360 version (mostly if there will be better songs for download) come out.
