Ratatat are playing at Rebel Rebel (Home nightclub's Saturday night indie thing) at Cockle Bay Wharf, Sydney on the 18th November.  Heather & I are going with a few friends, was wondering if anyone else was planning on going.  If so, want to meet up at some point to say hi?

If you don't know anything about this but love Ratatat & can afford the $18 ticket price (seriously people, 18 bucks) then check out this link: https://www.bigbeat.com.au/homesydney/shop/events/REBELREBEL181106.asp to buy tickets.  Seeing as it's a nightclub with a bar and all that jazz I'm pretty sure it's 18+ only, so some of you may not be able to come :(

So anyway, anyone planning on going?

I would totally come if I wasn't 10000 miles away and seeing Doc Watson and The Hunger Mountain Boys at the Calvin in Northampton the next day.

*cough*

They're good, I wish I wasn't a 'merican about now.  Australia's where the party's at.

Ratatat are sweet, I've been really digging their first album a lot lately.

Too bad I'm in America. And even more too bad that I'm in an area that doesn't really get the greatest shows.

They are not coming to Brisbane.

In fact, I had to find out about this show on I Heart Hiroshimas myspace.

For shame, Ratatat

Actually turns out they are playing with Sekiden and Ponyloaf, which has sent me into giddy fits, considering I just saw Ponyloaf for the first time at Market Day and I am thinking this is going to blend together pretty well, actually.

We cannot order tickets, u think there will be some left at the door that evening?
We arrived here about 2 weeks ago. Cockle Bay wharf and the home nightclub should be somewhere near darling harbour. but where exactly?

Shit, I think I'm actually going to be in Sydney that night! I'm flying out of the country for a few weeks, but I'm 90% sure the flight's on the 19th. I know nothing about Ratatat (apart from the fact that their name sounds alarmingly like awful 90s Aussie band Rat Cat), but I'm willing to punt $18. To be confirmed!

This was a mixed-bag of a show.

The boys totally fucking rocked out, but at times the venue's equipment let them down.  There was a constant crackling/static from the rightmost speaker and at times I could hardly hear either the bass or the guitar.  When I could hear them they were fucking aces & spades.

Also: Myself, Harry and a RL friend all bought tickets.  I bought tickets for myself, Heather, my brother amd his ladyfriend.  My RL friend bought tickets for himself and a friend.  We had another friend just lob up with us on the night and he got straight in.  The people who bought tickets were made to stand in a huge line.  So let's break this down:

buying tickets:
- cost $18 ($15 + $3 booking fee)
- stood in line for about 20 mins
- had to negotiate their confusing online ordering system

just lobbing up:
- cost $15
- walk straight in

fuck you, Rebel Rebel
