Bond, James Bond
Ozymandias:
Spoilers:
"I wasn't sure who the hell Mr. White was supposed to be. I guess if I were paying attention, I would've noted that he was in the early scene in the jungle, as pointed out to me by my Bond-nut friend who's scene it twice already, but sorry, that was 2 1/2 hours ago, and he wasn't really that memorable. Who the hell was he?"
He was someone behind Le Chiffre's organization. We're not supposed to know exactly who he works for or what his purpose was, though. That's what a sequel's for.
Jimmy the Squid:
I just saw it yesterday and I reckon it's one of the best films I've seen in a while. Craig did really really well and it was awesome to see Bond before he was Bond, y'know? Also, I like Texas hold 'em as it's the only poker I can play so I was fine with it. But then I'm not a poker nerd so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about but I know what I like and I definately liked that. Also that first chase sequence? How Prince of Persia was that? (the new ones not the old ones)
jolijn:
Just saw it! First of all i have to say daniel craig might not be classically hot, but he has a great bod and piercing eyes. i've also never seen a bad performance from him.
the opening song was just horrible...i don't know, i think it should almost always be a woman singing the theme song, not chris frickin cornell. the plot made a lot of sense, which is saying something for a bond movie, the girls are still hot and the action was great! who knew james bond knew how to bleed?
oh and obert i think the black and white sequence was just to show who his first two kills were to become a 00.
i didn't understand what he meant by M choosing that such letter??? what was he getting at?
the ending was so badass and that original theme song is still awesome.
Orbert:
Yeah, the thing with M threw me. I haven't read any of the books, so I don't know if it's explained better or differently (or at all), but in the movies, we've already established that M is a title, an office occupied by a person (since it was a guy before and is now a woman). I just figured M is the boss, whoever that is. Similarly, Q is "the gadget guy". We even saw them training "the next Q", who looked a lot like John Cleese.
So when he implied that M was actually her initial, that seemed to contradict what we "knew". He said something to the effect that he thought it was just a random letter, but actually stood for... and then she cut him off. Mary? Madeleine? Mom?
But they never addressed it before, and here they intentionally kept it ambiguous, so maybe they're just messing with us.

The original M's name (from the books) was actually Miles Messervy, implying it represented his name, not just a random letter.
I think it'd be amusing if it stood for "Moneypenny"...
